Bob Evnen
Robert Barnett Evnen (born 1952) is an American attorney and Republican politician in the state of Nebraska. He is the 27th Secretary of State of Nebraska, serving since 2019. Legal career Evnen graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in social science in 1974 and from the University of Southern California's Gould School of Law with a Juris Doctor in 1977. He was a partner at the Lincoln, Nebraska law firm Woods & Aitken, LLP for 32 years, where he practiced labor and employment law. He is licensed to practice law in Nebraska, Iowa, and California (inactive). Political career Evnen served as a member of the State Board of Education, following his appointment by Governor Dave Heineman in 2005 and he was elected to a full term in 2008. David Eugene Heineman (born May 12, 1948) is an American politician who served as the 39th governor of Nebraska from 2005 to 2015. A member of the Republican Party, he previously was the 39th treasurer of Nebraska from 1995 to 2001 and 37th lieutenant governor of Nebraska from 2001 to 2005. Having served out the remainder of Johanns' term and winning full four-year terms in 2006 and 2010, Heineman is the longest-serving Nebraska Governor with just under 10 years of service. Doug Peterson (born April 4, 1959) is an American lawyer and politician who was the 33rd attorney general of Nebraska. A Republican, Peterson was elected attorney general during the 2014 election and assumed office in January 2015.
