Bob Bruce (British Army Officer)
Major-General Robert Bernard Bruce is a former British Army officer. Military career Bruce was commissioned into the Royal Scots on 5 September 1986. He became commanding officer of the Royal Scots in February 2006 and then of The Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland, as the Royal Scots and King's Own Scottish Borderers merged that year. He went on to be commander 4th Mechanised Brigade in 2011 and was deployed as commander of Task Force Helmand in October 2012. Following his return to the United Kingdom in April 2013, he became Director Combat at Army Headquarters. He was deployed again as Deputy Commander of a multi-national task force in the Middle East in December 2014 and then became Director Capability in the Army Headquarters in November 2015. Major General Timothy David Hyams, is a senior British Army officer. Military career Hyams was commissioned into the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards in 1986. His regiment was amalgamated with the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards to form the Royal Dragoon Guards in 1992. Scottish Command or Army Headquarters Scotland (from 1972) is a command of the British Army. The Military Secretary is the British Army office with responsibility for appointments, promotion, postings and discipline of high ranking officers of the British Army. Task Force Helmand
Task Force Helmand was the name given to a military unit of the International Security Assistance Force in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Task Force Helmand was part of Regional Command Southwest and consisted primarily of personnel from the British Armed Forces, as well as contribution from NATO allies Denmark and Estonia.
