Bob Barry Jr.
Robert Bonnin Barry (December 21, 1956 – June 20, 2015), sometimes known by the abbreviated nickname "BBJ", was an American sportscaster. Barry spent most of his broadcasting career at NBC affiliate KFOR-TV (channel 4) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and served as the station's sports director for 17 years. At the time of his death, he was main sports anchor for the station's weeknight 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. newscasts and hosted the 15-minute weekly sports highlight show that airs within the 10:00 p.m. newscast, ''Friday Sports Overtime''. In addition to his duties at KFOR-TV, he also served as host of ''Sports Morning'' on sports radio station WWLS (640 AM, now ESPN Radio affiliate KWPN; and 104.9 FM, now at 98.1) since 1993, co-hosting the drive time talk show with former Oklahoma State University football coach Pat Jones. Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon
The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is an annual marathon in Oklahoma City, OK that began in 2001. The event now hosts over 24,000 runners and walkers from every state and several foreign countries. The event consists of a marathon, half marathon, marathon relay (5 member teams), 5k, and kids marathon. The race is an official Boston Marathon qualifying event. The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, built for those affected by the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, is the sole beneficiary of Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon event proceeds. Jim Thorpe Association
The Jim Thorpe Association is a civic and charity organization based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Its parent corporation is the Jim Thorpe Athletic Club. It is named in memory of multi-sport legend Jim Thorpe. Jim Thorpe Award The organization has awarded the Jim Thorpe Award to the top defensive back in college football since 1986. The National Sports Media Association (NSMA), formerly the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, is an organization of sports media members in the United States, and constitutes the American chapter of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS).
