Bob Bailey (actor)
Bob Bailey (born Robert Bainter Bailey; June 13, 1913 – August 13, 1983) was an American actor who performed mostly on radio but also appeared in films. Early years Bailey's parents were actor Edwin B. Bailey and actress Grace Lockwood Bailey, both of whom performed in early 1900s Repertory theatre, stock theater. He made his first appearance on stage with his mother when he was 10 days old. He took his middle name from actress Fay Bainter, who was his godmother. He began performing in his parents' stock company when he was 4 years old and continued to work there until he was 15. Career At age 15, Bailey worked in a wild-west carnival as both a barker and an actor. He went on to work at other places as an usher, a waiter, and a guide at an automobile exhibit, among other jobs. Bailey first worked in radio in Chicago. Robert Sherwood Bailey (October 13, 1942 – January 9, 2018) was an American professional baseball third baseman. He played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) between 1962 and 1978 for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Los Angeles Dodgers, Montreal Expos, Cincinnati Reds, and Boston Red Sox. Early life Bailey attended Wilson Classical High School, where he was the 1961 CIF Baseball Player of the Year and quarterbacked the football team for two years, one of which was undefeated. Robert Allan "Bashin' Bob" Bailey (May 29, 1931 – October 24, 2003) was a Canadian ice hockey right winger. He played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, and Chicago Black Hawks of the National Hockey League between 1953 and 1958. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1947 to 1968, was spent in various minor leagues. During his career he was involved in trades for over twenty players, including three separate trades for Bill Dineen. He was inducted into the Dayton Hockey Hall of Fame in 1970 for his time with the Dayton Gems of the International Hockey League, where he played the last four seasons of his career. Robert Bailey is a New Zealand former rugby league footballer, and coach of the New Zealand national rugby league team. Career Bailey played for Ponsonby with his three brothers. Two of them, Roger and Gary, played for New Zealand. From the Bay Roskill Vikings club, Bailey coached Auckland between 1983 and 1987. During this time Auckland did not lose a provincial or inter-district match, the worst result being a 12-all draw with the South Island in 1985. Bailey later coached the New Zealand national rugby league team between 1990 and 1991. This included matches that counted towards the 1992 World Cup. He finished his coaching career with an even record of three wins and three losses. In 2003 Bailey assisted the Russian side in their tour of New Zealand and at the Victory Cup, which they won by defeating British Amateur Rugby League Association. Robert W. Bailey (born ) is a politician in Ontario, Canada. He is a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario representing the riding of Sarnia—Lambton. He has been an MPP since 2007. Background Bailey was born in Petrolia, Ontario in the township of Enniskillen. He worked as a contract coordinator for Nova Chemicals in Sarnia. Bailey is also a Freemason. Politics Prior to entering provincial politics, Bailey served as a councillor for Enniskillen, Ontario. ''Invisible Children'' is a 2006 American documentary film that depicts the human rights abuses by the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda. Synopsis In the spring of 2003, Jason Russell, Bobby Bailey, and Laren Poole traveled to Africa to document the War in Darfur. Instead, they changed their focus to the conflict in northern Uganda, Africa's second longest-running conflict after the Eritrean War of Independence. The documentary depicts the abduction of children who are used as child soldiers by Joseph Kony and his Lord's Resistance Army (LRA). This film centers around a group of Ugandan children who walk miles every night to places of refuge in order to avoid abduction by the LRA.
