Boardman High School
Boardman High School is a high school in Boardman Township, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Boardman Local School District. Athletic teams compete as the Boardman Spartans in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the All-American Conference. History The first high school, located on Market Street, is now Boardman Center Intermediate School. In 1969, the new high school was built on Glenwood Avenue. In 2000, a new performing arts center was added on by donation. As of the 2021-2022 school year, the school principal is Mark Zura. Extracurriculars The Boardman Spartan Marching Band Over the years, Boardman High School's marching band has become not only a symbol for the school, but a symbol within the state. Boardman, Ohio
Boardman Township is one of the fourteen townships of Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 40,213 at the 2020 census. A suburb directly south of Youngstown, it is the second largest municipality in the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area and is a major retail hub for the region. The township is contiguous with the census-designated place of Boardman, Ohio as designated by the U.S. Census Bureau. History The community of Boardman was founded by Elijah Boardman, a land agent of the Connecticut Land Company and later U.S. Senator, in the late 1790s as township 1, range 2 within the Connecticut Western Reserve. Softball is a game similar to baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Softball is played competitively at club levels, the college level, and the professional level. Philip Tyler Keaggy (born March 23, 1951) is an American acoustic and electric guitarist and vocalist who has released more than 55 albums and contributed to many more recordings in both the contemporary Christian music and mainstream markets. Mary Elizabeth Hartman (December 23, 1943 – June 10, 1987) was an American actress of the stage and screen. She debuted in the popular 1965 film ''A Patch of Blue'', playing a blind girl named Selina D'Arcy, opposite Sidney Poitier, a role for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress and a Golden Globe Award. 2008 NFL Draft
The 2008 NFL Draft was the 73rd annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible American football players. The draft took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, New York, on April 26 and April 27, 2008. For the 29th consecutive year, ESPN televised the draft; the NFL Network also broadcast the event, its third year doing so. Of the 252 selections, 220 were regular selections in rounds one through seven, and 32 were compensatory selections, distributed among rounds three through seven. In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. John Patrick Greco, Jr. (born March 24, 1985) is a former American football guard. He was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Toledo. Early years Greco was named First-team All-Conference and Second-team All-region as a senior and was Second-team All-Conference as a junior at Boardman High School in Youngstown, Ohio.
