The Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps is a World Class competitive junior Drum and bugle corps (modern), drum and bugle corps. Based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the Blue Stars was one of the thirteen founding member corps of Drum Corps International. History The Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps was founded in 1964 by Frank Van Voorhis and David Dummer. That first year, there was only a color guard, but soon the color guard merged with the Apple Arrows Drum and Bugle Corps of La Crescent, Minnesota to become the Blue Stars. The Blue Stars took to the streets in 1965 as a competitive parade corps. They were sponsored by First Federal Savings and Loan and were known as the First Federal Blue Stars. In order to raise funds, First Federal issued stock in the corps and sold it to the citizens of LaCrosse. The Bluestars
The Bluestars were a garage rock band from Auckland, New Zealand, who were active during the 1960s. They became one of the most popular bands in New Zealand at the time and enjoyed a hit in the Auckland area with their first single, which appeared on Decca Records, where they were the first New Zealand rock band to be signed to the label. But, they are now best known for their subsequent release, "Social End Product", that with its line "I don't stand for the Queen", took aim at the monarchy and social oppression, anticipating certain sentiments expressed in the music of the Sex Pistols and other 1970s punk acts. ''Bluestars'' is the debut studio album by American R&B group Pretty Ricky. It was released on May 24, 2005 by Atlantic Records and Bluestar Entertainment. The record serves as their second release under their record label, called Bluestar Entertainment. The album was supported by three singles: " Grind with Me", " Your Body", and "Nothing but a Number". ''Bluestars'' debuted at number 16 on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and sold 56,000 units in its first week. To date, the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Margrethe Blossom Dearie (April 28, 1924 – February 7, 2009) was an American jazz singer and pianist. Blue Stars is a Dutch basketball club based in Diemen, North Holland. The club played in the top tier Eredivisie during the 60s, 70s and 80s. History Blue Stars Basketball was founded in 1947 by Jan Janbroers and is one of the oldest basketball clubs in the Netherlands.
