Blue Bus of North Lanarkshire, also known as Blue Bus of Shotts or Law of Shotts, is a bus operator primarily serving the area of Shotts, North Lanarkshire in West Scotland. It is a mainly local bus operator, based at Allanton, but is also involved in private coach business. The company was formed from the remnants of the bankrupted HAD Coaches. Blue Bus operate a variety of services across central Scotland. the company operates services on four routes between Lanarkshire and West Lothian. Allanton, Scottish Borders
Allanton ( gd, Baile Alain) is a small village in the Scottish Borders region of Scotland. Historically part of Berwickshire, for many years it was part of the estate of Blackadder House, which was demolished around 1925. Shotts is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is located almost halfway between Glasgow () and Edinburgh (). The village has a population of about 8,840. A local story has Shotts being named after the legendary giant highwayman Bertram de Shotts, though Toponymy, toponymists give the Anglo-Saxons, Anglo-Saxon ("steep slopes") as the real source of the name. The Plaxton Beaver, originally known as the Reeve Burgess Beaver, is a minibus body built by Plaxton. It was built at the Pilsley, North East Derbyshire, Pilsley, Derbyshire factory of Plaxton's Reeve Burgess subsidiary from 1987 to 1991, at Plaxton's main Scarborough, North Yorkshire, Scarborough factory from 1991, and from 1995 at Anston in South Yorkshire. The Beaver has been built mainly on Mercedes-Benz van-derived minibus chassis such as the Mercedes-Benz T2, 709D and 811D, and was also built on the Dodge 50 Series, Renault S56 and S75 until 1992. Rare examples were also built on Iveco Bus, Iveco 49.10 chassis. The Beaver 2, built on Mercedes-Benz Vario chassis, replaced the original Beaver in December 1996, and was still in production in 2007.
