Blue (The Verve Song)
"Blue" is a song by English rock band the Verve. It was released as the first single from their first album, '' A Storm in Heaven'', which was released through Hut Records. The song peaked at number 69 on the UK Singles Chart. The video shows the band down a dark alleyway in Islington, London. There was a separate video for the US, which was filmed in Dublin. An alternate mix of "Blue" subtitled (USA mix) was released on ''No Come Down ''No Come Down'' is a compilation album of B-sides and outtakes by The Verve, released in 1994 for Vernon Yard and Hut Recordings. The Verve
The Verve were an English Rock music, rock band formed in Wigan in 1990 by lead vocalist Richard Ashcroft, guitarist Nick McCabe, bass guitarist Simon Jones (musician), Simon Jones and drummer Peter Salisbury. Guitarist and keyboard player Simon Tong later became a member in their first reunion only. Beginning with a Psychedelic rock, psychedelic sound with their debut LP ''A Storm in Heaven'', by the mid-1990s the band had released several Extended play, EPs and four albums. They also endured name and line-up changes, break-ups, health problems, drug abuse and various lawsuits. The band's commercial breakthrough was the 1997 album ''Urban Hymns'', one of the List of best-selling albums in the United Kingdom, best-selling albums in UK history. ''No Come Down'' is a compilation album of B-sides and outtakes by The Verve, released in 1994 for Vernon Yard and Hut Recordings. It was the first release on which the original band's name Verve was changed to The Verve due to conflict with the jazz record label Verve. Overview "No Come Down", "Where the Geese Go", "Twilight", and "Six O'Clock" are outtakes from the sessions for the group's first album, '' A Storm in Heaven'', and first appeared on B-sides to singles from that album. "Blue" is presented in a different (vocally upfront) "USA Mix" - released to coincide with Verve's participation in Lollapalooza. Another outtake from the band's debut album is an earlier and folkier alternate version of "Make It 'Til Monday".
