As a northern suburb of Metro Detroit, Bloomfield Township is located north of the city of Detroit. Established in 1827, it is the oldest township of Oakland County. Bloomfield Hills is a small city (5.04 sq. miles) in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a northern suburb of Metro Detroit and is approximately northwest of Downtown Detroit. Blumfield Township is a civil township of Saginaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 Census, the township population was 1,960. History Blumfield Township was established in 1853. It was the site of one sawmill and several farms around 1880. At that point it had been primarily settled by immigrants from Germany.
