Bloom (Billy Pilgrim Album)
''Bloom'' is the second album by the American musical duo Billy Pilgrim, released in 1995. The duo was dropped by Atlantic Records the following year. The album peaked at No. 37 on ''Billboards Heatseekers Albums chart. The first single was "Sweet Louisiana Sound", which was a minor radio hit. The duo promoted the album by playing shows with Blessid Union of Souls and labelmate Mary Karlzen, among others. Production The album was produced by Richard Dodd. It was recorded at Treasure Isle Studios, in Nashville. The backing band included Mike Campbell, Sonny Landreth, and Garry Tallent. Critical reception The ''Vancouver Sun'' wrote that the "lead track, 'Sweet Louisiana Sound', is an upbeat four-four kicker with a hint of a bayou twang that resists the duo's propensity for overly earnest, over-simplified, folk pop." Billy Pilgrim (duo)
Billy Pilgrim (often stylized billy pilgrim) is an American folk rock duo based in Atlanta, Georgia, comprising Andrew Hyra and Kristian Bush. The band's name was taken from the time-traveling anti-hero of Kurt Vonnegut's novel ''Slaughterhouse-Five''. The name was adopted in 1994; prior to that the duo simply billed itself as Andrew Hyra and Kristian Bush. The band has released two albums on a major record label (''Billy Pilgrim'', ''Bloom'') and several independently. The songs "Get Me Out Of Here" and "Sweet Louisiana Sound" were released as singles. Atlantic Recording Corporation (simply known as Atlantic Records) is an American record label founded in October 1947 by Ahmet Ertegun and Herb Abramson. Top Heatseekers are "Breaking and Entering" music charts issued weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. The Heatseekers Albums and the Heatseekers Songs charts were introduced by ''Billboard'' in 1991 with the purpose of highlighting the sales by new and developing musical recording artists. Albums and songs appearing on Top Heatseekers may also concurrently appear on the ''Billboard'' 200 or ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Blessid Union of Souls (sometimes abbreviated to Blessid Union or BUOS) is an American alternative rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio, that was formed in 1990 by friends Jeff Pence and Eliot Sloan. The band's first studio album, '' Home'', had some success which lay with its lead single, " I Believe". The song popularized the band with local-area DJs and is the group's most successful song. Their second album, the self-titled '' Blessid Union of Souls'', did not have nearly the success of ''Home'', but their third album, '' Walking Off the Buzz'', spawned the hit single " Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me for Me)". Mike Campbell (musician)
Michael Wayne Campbell (born February 1, 1950) is an American guitarist. He was a member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and co-wrote many of the band's hits with Petty, including "Refugee", "Here Comes My Girl", "You Got Lucky", and "Runnin' Down a Dream". Outside of The Heartbreakers, he has worked as a session guitarist and songwriter with a number of other acts, including composing and playing on the Don Henley hit " The Boys of Summer", as well as working on most of Stevie Nicks's solo albums. Campbell, along with Neil Finn, joined Fleetwood Mac to replace lead guitarist Lindsey Buckingham on their world tour in 2018–2019. Sonny Landreth
Clide Vernon "Sonny" Landreth (born February 1, 1951) is an American blues musician from southwest Louisiana who is especially known as a slide guitar player. He was born in Canton, Mississippi, and settled in Lafayette, Louisiana. He lives in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Technique Landreth is known as "the King of Slydeco" and plays with a strong zydeco influence. Guitarist Eric Clapton has said that Landreth is one of the most advanced guitarists in the world and one of the most under-appreciated. Landreth is best known for his slide guitar playing, having developed a technique where he also frets notes and plays chords and chord fragments by fretting behind the slide while he plays. Garry Wayne Tallent (born October 27, 1949), sometimes billed as Garry W. Tallent, is an American musician and record producer, best known for being bass player and founding member of the E Street Band, Bruce Springsteen's primary backing band since 1972. As of 2022, and not counting Springsteen himself, Tallent is the only original member of the E Street Band remaining in the band. Tallent was inducted as a member of the E Street Band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
