''Bloodrock Live'' is a live double album by Bloodrock released on Capitol Records in May 1972. While the album was marketed as being a live performance, three of the album's songs ("You Gotta Roll", "Cheater" and "Kool-Aid Kids") were actually studio recordings with dubbed applause. Bloodrock
Bloodrock was an American hard rock band based in Fort Worth, Texas, that had success in the 1970s. The band emerged from the Fort Worth club and music scene during the early to mid-1970s. Early career Bloodrock initially formed in Fort Worth in 1963, under the name the Naturals. This first lineup featured Jim Rutledge on drums and vocals, Nick Taylor on guitar and vocals, Ed Grundy on bass and vocals, and Dean Parks on guitar. They toured the region playing at battle of the bands, opened locally for national acts like The Beach Boys, Paul Revere & The Raiders, and The Five Americans, and released their first single in 1965 "Hey Girl" b/w "I Want You" (Rebel MME 1003). Capitol Records, LLC (known legally as Capitol Records, Inc. until 2007) is an American record label distributed by Universal Music Group through its Capitol Music Group imprint. ''Bloodrock 2'' is the second album by the Texas rock band Bloodrock. It was released on Capitol Records in October 1970 and produced by Terry Knight. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA in 1990. In early 1971, the gory extended track "D.O.A." became the biggest hit of Bloodrock's career when it was issued in shorter form as a single. The motivation for writing the song was explained in 2005 by guitarist Lee Pickens. "When I was 17, I wanted to be an airline pilot," Pickens said. "I had just gotten out of this airplane with a friend of mine, at this little airport, and I watched him take off. John Nitzinger
John Nitzinger (born 1948) is an American blues rock guitarist, recording artist and songwriter from Fort Worth, Texas. Career In the mid-1960s, Nitzinger began his career as a performer on Bruce Channel's hit single "Hey! Baby", and became something of a local star with his band "The Barons", releasing several singles before breaking up. In 1968, Nitzinger recorded two singles, "Plastic Window" and "Life of John Doe", which were produced by T Bone Burnett. In the early 1970s, Nitzinger helped pen songs on five albums for the Fort Worth band Bloodrock. When Bloodrock 2 went Gold, Nitzinger signed a contract with Capitol Records and his first album, the self-titled ''Nitzinger'', was released in early 1972. Neal Preston (born 1952) is a photographer based in Los Angeles, California. Preston is known primarily for his photographs of rock musicians. He has worked closely with such artists as Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and many others. Life and career Preston was born in New York City. He attended Forest Hills High School in Queens, New York.
