Bloodmatch
''Bloodmatch'' is a 1991 martial-arts film directed by Albert Pyun and starring Thom Mathews, Hope Marie Carlton, Marianne Taylor, Vincent Klyn, Michel Qissi, and Benny "The Jet" Urquidez. Plot The film opens with a man chasing another man. The chaser is Brick Bardo, who is investigating the death of his brother. He catches up to Davey, who attempts to fight him, resulting in Davey getting knocked out and being tied up to the ground in the boiling Sun. Brick interrogates Davey through torturous methods and tells him that Brick's brother was involved in a fixed kickboxing fight scheme, which resulted in his exile and eventual murder. Brick demands the name of the four people who are responsible for his brother's death. Davey names Brent Caldwell, Mike Johnson, Billy Munoz, and Connie Angel. 21st Century Film Corporation Inc. was a theatrical distribution company formed sometime in the 1970s as a production company and distributor. Menahem Golan served as CEO of the company from 1989 to the company's bankruptcy. History The company was formed by Tom Ward and Art Schweitzer around 1976 (though some sources claim it to be 1971) as a film production company and distributor. The company acquired most of the catalog of Dimension Pictures, after that company's bankruptcy in 1981. Along with theatrical distribution, 21st Century also released many films on home video, first via their short-lived label, Planet Video, from 1982 to 1983, and then through a more lucrative deal with Continental Video beginning in 1985. Thomas Mathews (born November 28, 1958) is an American actor best known for his roles as Tommy Jarvis in the ''Friday the 13th'' franchise—in particular '' Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives'' (1986)—and Freddy in ''The Return of the Living Dead'' (1985). Albert Pyun (May 19, 1953 – November 26, 2022) was an American film director who made low-budget B-movies and direct-to-video action films. The Independent Film Channel said that Pyun "has carved out a unique niche as a director of low-budget, high-concept genre films starring actors past their prime", adding that "others believe this a charitable description for Pyun, who has also been derided as the new Ed Wood." Vincent Klyn
Vincent Klyn (born June 30, 1960) is a New Zealand-born actor and surfer who has appeared in a number of 1980s and 1990s-era motion pictures. His most notable role was the 1989 film ''Cyborg'' directed by Albert Pyun. Early life Klyn (Klijn) was born in New Zealand. His family relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii and he attended and graduated from Aiea High School. He learned to surf in Hawaii. He went on to compete on the professional surfing circuit at only 13 years of age. Klyn was a competitor in the World Wide Surf tour, and was among the top five surfers in the world at that time. Michel Qissi
Michel Qissi ( ar, ميشيل قيسي; born Mohammed Qissi on 12 September 1962) is a Belgian Moroccan actor, best known for his role as Tong Po in the 1989 martial arts film ''Kickboxer''. Biography Qissi was born in Oujda, Morocco and moved to Brussels, Belgium at the age of 2. He began training in boxing at seven years old, and became an amateur champion in his weight class at 17. He also went on to study Shōtōkan Karate, Muay Thai and Kickboxing. He befriended Jean-Claude van Damme at an early age and they grew up together with the same love for action films and training in martial arts.
