Blood Relations (film)
''Blood Relations'' is a 1988 Canadian horror film directed by Graeme Campbell and starring Jan Rubeš, Kevin Hicks, and Lydie Denier. Its plot follows the members of a dysfunctional family who congregate at an isolated mansion, where they expose each other's darkest secrets with lethal results. Plot Thomas is accompanied by his girlfriend, Marie, to Thomas's lavish familial estate in the middle of the winter. They arrive at the empty house, while Thomas's estranged father Andreas, a neurosurgeon, is performing an operation at the local hospital. Thomas tells Marie how his mother, Sheila, died in the home, and remarks that he misses her. When Andreas returns home from his shift, he finds Thomas in a bathtub, appearing to have committed suicide, but quickly realizes it is simply a prank, and that Thomas has painted a fake wound on his neck. Graeme Campbell (director)
Graeme Neil Campbell (born November 4, 1954) is a Canadian film director, writer and editor. Life and career Campbell was born in Montreal, Quebec to William and Thelma Campbell. He has made films for television, including individual episodes and mini-series. He earned a BFA from Montreal's Concordia University. He has been writing and directing movies and television for over twenty years. He started off making documentaries, but got his first break with the controversial feature, '' Murder One'' released by Miramax in 1988; the film was being directed by screenwriter Fleming 'Tex' Fuller, however after one week of principal photography Fuller was fired and replaced by Campbell. Starring Henry Thomas, the film is an uncompromising portrayal of a horrific crime spree gone wrong. Montreal World Film Festival
The Montreal World Film Festival (WFF; french: le Festival des Films du Monde) was one of Canada's oldest international film festivals and the only competitive film festival in North America accredited by the FIAPF (although the Toronto International Film Festival is North America's only accredited non-competitive festival). The public festival, which was founded in 1977 as a replacement for the defunct Montreal International Film Festival (1960–68), is held annually in late August in the city of Montreal in Quebec.
