Blood Bowl (1995 Video Game)
''Blood Bowl'' is the turn-based strategy video game adaptation of the Games Workshop miniatures game, originally developed for MS-DOS computers by Destiny Software Productions and published by MicroLeague. Gameplay The game is a fantasy version of American football, with a violent twist in that opponents can be deliberately seriously injured or killed, and without the ability to kick field goals. Each player is given a set number of action points with which to act. The team that scores the most touchdowns wins. This can be achieved through a throwing and passing game, or alternatively, by beating the opposing team up so badly that scoring becomes easy. The game features league play in which the player's team competes in the standings and can sign free agents to augment his team or replace killed players. ''Blood Bowl'' is a Board game, miniatures board game created by Jervis Johnson for the United Kingdom, British games company Games Workshop as a parody of American football. The game was first released in 1986 and has been re-released in new editions since. Also known as ''Computer Game Review and 16-Bit Entertainment'', and then later as ''Computer Game Review and CD-Rom Entertainment''. ''Mutant League Football'' is a video game that was originally released in 1993 for the Sega Genesis. The game was designed using the '' Madden '93'' engine, and features a different take on football, where the games resemble a war as much as a sporting competition. A year later, the same team applied similar concepts to the sport of ice hockey to create ''Mutant League Hockey''.
