Block By Block
''Block by Block'' is a 2013 Indian documentary film produced by Vidhi Kasliwal. A Landmarc Films production and presentation, it is directed by Hina Sayada. It explores the experiences of the construction laborers who built Palais Royale, Mumbai, the tallest building in India. Cast This film was released in English, Hindi and Marathi languages, known as ''Saathi Haath Badhana'' in non-English versions. Vidhi Kasliwal
Vidhi Kasliwal is an Indian film director and producer, who is the founder and CEO of Landmarc Films. She has worked for Rajshri Productions, where she wrote and produced documentaries, and worked as an assistant to directors Sooraj R. Barjatya and Kaushik Ghatak. Early life and education Kasliwal grew up in Mumbai, the eldest of four siblings. She went to Villa Theresa High School. She has a B.Com. from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, and went through the Creative Producer's Program at the UCLA Film School. She plays the santoor and the piano, and she is a trained kathak dancer. Career Kasliwal worked as an assistant at Rajshri Productions, and was part of the crew for ''Vivah'' (2006) and '' Ek Vivaah... Aisa Bhi'' (2008). She wrote and directed '' Isi Life Mein...!'', a film produced by Rajshri Productions, which was released in 2010. Sachin Khedekar (born 14 May 1965) is an Indian actor and director known for his work in Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Gujarati language films. His well-known films include '' Kaksparsh'', '' Astitva'' and Shyam Benegal's '' Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero'' in which he portrayed Subhas Chandra Bose. Rajendranath Zutshi, more commonly known as Raj Zutshi (born 4 February 1961), is an Indian film and television actor. Personal life Zutshi was born on 4 February 1961 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India into a Kashmiri Pandit family. Raj Zutshi is a grandson of Dina Nath Zutshi, who was a radio and theatre artiste, perhaps best known to the public for his role as Halim Mirza, brother of Salim Mirza (Balraj Sahni), in the film ''Garam Hawa'' (1973). Raj Zutshi was formerly married to Nuzhat Hussain, daughter of film-maker Nasir Hussain. He was her second husband and the step-father of actor Imran Khan, who was Nuzhat's son by her first husband, Anil Pal. Palais Royale, Mumbai
Palais Royale is a residential supertall skyscraper project in Worli, Mumbai. At , it is the tallest building and third tallest structure in India. The building sits on land previously owned by Shree Ram Mills Ltd. Permits for construction were granted in 2005, and construction began in 2008. The project's progress has been stalled due to multiple public interest litigation lawsuits filed by NGOs Janhit Manch and UHRF, Delhi. These litigations were disposed of by the Supreme Court of India in October 2019. In its judgement, the Court observed that the lawsuits lacked consistency and bonafides. The promoters of the project have contended the lawsuits to be motivated and sponsored by private interests of rival builder Mufatraj Munot of Kalpataru Builders.
