''Blk 88'' (大牌88) is a Singaporean Chinese language web series produced by MediaCorp in 2012. Webisodes are available on xinmsn's catch-up TV portal, an online portal run by MediaCorp in collaboration with msn.com, and were broadcast on Channel 8 after the initial release. It was commissioned by the Media Development Authority after the success of web mini-series ''Let's Play Love''. Not only is it the first locally produced animated web series, it is also the first animated comedy series produced in Singapore. It stars veteran actors Huang Wenyong and Lin Meijiao and Y.E.S. 93.3FM deejays Lin Peifen anSeah Kar Huat(Xie Jiafa) as well as several guest artistes. Like ''Let's Play Love'', ''Blk 88'' was also well received by netizens, especially for its humorous satirical references to familiar aspects of Singaporean life and society. Huang Wenyong
Huang Wenyong (25 July 1952 – 20 April 2013) was a Malaysia-born Singaporean actor and former teacher of Chinese descent. Local media and colleagues referred to him as "Ah Ge" (senior actor) due to his status. Huang died at the Singapore General Hospital at around 5 pm (GMT+8) on 20 April 2013, at the age of 60 due to lymphoma. Early life and career Huang was a teacher in Kuala Lumpur before leaving for Singapore. Huang moved to Singapore in the 1970s, with only fifty dollars in hand. He joined the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation in 1981. He is perhaps best known for his appearances in '' The Awakening'', in which he played love interest to Xiang Yun's character, and '' The Seletar Robbery'' in 1982. Lin Meijiao
Lin Meijiao () is a Singaporean actress. Life and career Lin was educated at Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School. Lin has acted in many drama serials and is a multi-nominee for the Best Supporting Actress category at the annual Star Awards. She was awarded the Best Supporting Actress at the 1995 Shanghai International Film Festival for her role in the drama serial ''Silk of Love''. Channel 8 ( zh, 8頻道) is a Singaporean free-to-air television channel, airing in Mandarin Chinese. It was created by Television Singapura on 31 August 1963 with experimental broadcasts, before going official on 23 November that year. The channel's logo is a yellow number 8 on top of a red disc. Let's Play Love
Let's Play Love (PK爱情) is a Singaporean web series which was launched in April 2011. It was produced to celebrate xinmsn's 1st anniversary and is the first interactive web series produced by MediaCorp. Webisodes are available on xinmsn's Catch-up TV portal. It was also broadcast on Channel U. The series is about the participants of a dating game show. Every five webisodes, netizens could vote on their favourite outcome and the next five webisodes are produced based on audience feedback. The webisodes are released only a week later to give the cast and crew time to film based on the online polls. Dennis Chew Chong Kheng (born 15 August 1973), also known as Zhou Chongqing, is a Singaporean radio deejay, actor, variety show host and singer. Chew is known for playing Aunty Lucy, a character which requires him to cross-dress as a middle-aged woman in the variety show ''Paris and Milan''.
