Bachelor of Letters (BLitt or LittB; Latin ' or ') is a second undergraduate university degree in which students specialize in an area of study relevant to their own personal, professional, or academic development. This area of study may have been touched on in a prior undergraduate degree but not studied in depth, or may never have been formally taught to the student. The degree is less often awarded now than in previous centuries, and is, at the current time, only awarded by two universities in Australia and four universities in Turkey, although it is still very common in Brazil. Bit Blit
Bit blit (also written BITBLT, BIT BLT, BitBLT, Bit BLT, Bit Blt etc., which stands for ''bit block transfer'') is a data operation commonly used in computer graphics in which several bitmaps are combined into one using a ''boolean function''. The operation involves at least two bitmaps: a "source" (or "foreground") and a "destination" (or "background"), and possibly a third that is often called the "mask". The result may be written to a fourth bitmap, though often it replaces the destination. The pixels of each are combined bitwise according to the specified raster operation (ROP) and the result is then written to the destination. The ROP is essentially a boolean formula. The most obvious ROP overwrites the destination with the source. Other ROPs may involve AND, OR, XOR, and NOT operations. In computing, the Blit was a programmable bitmap graphics terminal designed by Rob Pike and Bart Locanthi Jr. of Bell Labs in 1982. History The Blit programmable bitmap graphics terminal was designed by Rob Pike and Bart Locanthi Jr. of Bell Labs in 1982. The Blit technology was commercialized by AT&T and Teletype. In 1984, the DMD (dot-mapped display) 5620 was released, followed by models 630 MTG (multi-tasking graphics) in 1987 and 730 MTG in 1989. The 5620 used a Western Electric 32100 processor (aka Bellmac 32) and had a 15" green phosphor display with 800×1024×1 resolution (66×88 characters in the initial text mode) interlaced at 30 Hz. The 630 and 730 had Motorola 68000 processors and a 1024×1024×1 monochrome display at 60 Hz (most had amber displays, but some had white or green displays). "BLIT" (acronym of ''Berryman Logical Image Technique'') is a 1988 science fiction short story by the British writer David Langford. It takes place in a setting where highly dangerous types of images called "basilisks" (after the legendary reptile) have been discovered; these images contain patterns within them that exploit flaws in the structure of the human mind to produce a lethal reaction, effectively " crashing" the mind the way a computer program crashes when given data that it fails to process. Summary The story is broken up into sections of narrative and expository sections on the nature of the "basilisks" or "BLITs" written in a pseudo- scientific style. Toyota Mark II Blit
The is a mid-size station wagon manufactured by the Japanese automaker Toyota. It is the replacement of the Mark II Qualis and shared a platform with the X110 series Mark II rear-wheel drive sedan, while the Mark II Qualis is a rebadged XV20 series Camry Gracia wagon, with front-wheel drive layout. The Mark II Blit was introduced in January 2002 and ended production in June 2007 due to consolidation efforts. The car remained in production until three years after the Mark X came out, which replaced all of Toyota's X-body sedans, the Verossa, which in turn is a successor to the Chaser and the Cresta, and the Mark II. Toyota's official Mark II Blit successor is the front-wheel drive minivan, the Mark X ZiO, from September 2007.
