Bliss (Marvel Comics)
Morlocks are a group of Mutant (Marvel Comics), mutant characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The characters are usually depicted as being associated with the X-Men in the Marvel Universe. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Paul Smith (comics), Paul Smith, they were named after the Morlock, subterranean race of the same name in H. G. Wells' novel ''The Time Machine'', but unlike in the Wells book, they are not a faceless, threatening mass of villains. They first appeared as a group in ''The Uncanny X-Men'' #169 (May 1983 in comics, 1983). Caliban (Marvel Comics), Caliban appeared prior to that, but he was not yet a member of the Morlocks. The Morlocks were depicted as an underground society (both Underground living, literally and Underground society, figuratively) of outcast mutants living as mole people, tunnel dwellers in the sewerage, sewers, abandoned tunnels, and List of closed New York City Subway stations, abandoned subway lines be ...

Bliss (other)
BLISS is a system programming language developed at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) by W. A. Wulf, D. B. Russell, and A. N. Habermann around 1970. It was perhaps the best known system language until C debuted a few years later. Since then, C became popular and common, and BLISS faded into obscurity. When C was in its infancy, a few projects within Bell Labs debated the merits of BLISS vs. C. BLISS is a typeless block- structured programming language based on expressions rather than statements, and includes constructs for exception handling, coroutines, and macros. It does not include a goto statement. The name is variously said to be short for ''Basic Language for Implementation of System Software'' or ''System Software Implementation Language, Backwards''. It was sometimes called "Bill's Language for Implementing System Software", after Bill Wulf. The original Carnegie Mellon compiler was notable for its extensive use of optimizations, and formed the basis of the classi ...
