Early life and education Palermo was born Peter Schwarze in Leipzig, Germany, in 1943, and adopted as an infant, with his twin brother, Michael, by foster parents named Heisterkamp. He adopted his outlandish name in 1964, during his studies with Bruno Goller and Joseph Beuys at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf between 1962 and 1967. The name refers to Frank "Blinky" Palermo, an American Mafioso and boxing promoter who managed Sonny Liston. In 1969, Palermo moved to Mönchengladbach and set up a studio he would share with Imi Knoebel and Ulrich Rückriem. After a stay in New York in the early 1970s, he moved into Gerhard Richter's former Düsseldorf studio. Blinky (ghost)
Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde, collectively known as the Ghost Gang, are a quartet of characters from the ''Pac-Man'' video game franchise. Created by Toru Iwatani, they first appear in the 1980 arcade game ''Pac-Man'' as the main antagonists. The ghosts have appeared in every ''Pac-Man'' game since, sometimes becoming minor antagonists or allies to Pac-Man, such as in ''Pac-Man World'' and the ''Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures'' animated series. Some entries in the series went on to add other ghosts to the group, such as Sue in ''Ms. Pac-Man'', Tim in ''Jr. Pac-Man'', and Funky and Spunky in ''Pac-Mania''; however, these did not appear in later games. The group has since gained a positive reception and is cited as one of the most recognizable video game villains of all time. Concept and creation The ghosts were created by Toru Iwatani, who was the head designer for the original ''Pac-Man'' arcade game. Blinky (comics)
''Blinky'' is a British comic strip, created by Nick Brennan, and published in the comic book ''The Beezer and Topper'' from 1990 until 1994 and in ''The Dandy'' until 2007. Concept Blinky is a young boy with large, thick glasses through whom he sees a galaxy very different from the rest of the world, which often leads to chaos. His trusty sidekick, Yellow Dog, always seems to get caught up in Blinky's adventures, and is very keen to get rid of him. When Blinky first appeared in 1990, the design of the character seemed to be a younger version of an earlier Beezer comic strip called '' Colonel Blink''. However, when ''The Beezer and Topper'' folded, and Nick Brennan began drawing the strip in January 1994, Blinky took on a new look that was now quite unlike Colonel Blink. The design was altered further over the next few years. Following the relaunch in late 2007, Nick Brennan, the artist, left ''The Dandy'', and so there were no Blinky strips being produced from then on. H ...
