''Blinded'' (original Spanish title: ''A ciegas'') is a 1997 romantic thriller directed and written by Daniel Calparsoro. The film's director Daniel Calparsoro was nominated for the Golden Lion award at the 1997 Venice International Film Festival, but lost to Takeshi Kitano's romantic film ''Hana-b''i. Plot Marrubi (Najwa Nimri) works at a dry cleaners and must endure the unwanted advances of her boss Clemente (Ramón Barea). However, Marrubi is also a terrorist in the ETA with her lover, Mikel ( Alfredo Villa). They target a wealthy businessman for a heist intending to kill him in the process. When Marrubi deliberately shoots her colleague instead of the intended victim, both she and Mikel are on the run. At Mikel's country house, matters are complicated by another one of their group who insists Marrubi be killed for her betrayal. It was the first full-length film entirely produced in Grenada. Plot Clara meets John at a particularly vulnerable time in her life. She is "blinded" by love and he becomes her world. The intense relationship then becomes violent and Clara is forced to take drastic action to protect herself and their son Chris. The Blinded
The Blinded (formerly known as Stigmata and Blinded Colony) is a melodic death metal band from Karlshamn, Sweden, formerly known as both Stigmata and Blinded Colony. They are currently unsigned and recording the pre-preproduction of their third studio album. They released an EP in 2010 containing six new tracks. Background Stigmata (2000–2002) Blinded Colony was formed in January 2000, by guitarists Johan Blomstrom and Tobias Olsson, and singer Niklas Svensson. At that point the band was known as Stigmata. In June 2000, the band began recording their first demo, ''Painreceiver'', and two new members were recruited, Christoffer Nilsson to play drums, and Annika Haptén, a singer. Later that summer Staffan Franzén was officially announced as the bass player. After finishing the recording of ''Painreceiver'', the band performed shows around Sweden, but began to lose faith in the endeavor. Due to lack of interest the band went on hiatus. Visual impairment, also known as vision impairment, is a medical definition primarily measured based on an individual's better eye visual acuity; in the absence of treatment such as correctable eyewear, assistive devices, and medical treatment– visual impairment may cause the individual difficulties with normal daily tasks including reading and walking. Low vision is a functional definition of visual impairment that is chronic, uncorrectable with treatment or correctable lenses, and impacts daily living. As such low vision can be used as a disability metric and varies based on an individual's experience, environmental demands, accommodations, and access to services. The American Academy of Ophthalmology defines visual impairment as the best-corrected visual acuity of less than 20/40 in the better eye, and the World Health Organization defines it as a presenting acuity of less than 6/12 in the better eye.
