Blind Woman's Curse
''Blind Woman's Curse'' ( ja, 怪談昇り竜) is a 1970 Japanese film directed by Teruo Ishii. Plot Akemi (Kaji) is a dragon tattooed leader of the Tachibana yakuza clan. In a duel with a rival gang, Akemi slashes the eyes of an opponent and a black cat appears to lap the blood from the gushing wound. The cat and the victim of the slashing go on to seek revenge on Akemi's gang, leaving a trail of dead yakuza girls with their dragon tattoos skinned from their bodies. Teruo Ishii
was a Japanese film director best known in the West for his early films in the ''Super Giant'' series, and for his films in the ''ero guro'' ("erotic-grotesque") subgenre of ''pinku eiga'' such as ''Shogun's Joy of Torture'' ( 1968). He also directed the 1965 film, ''Abashiri Prison'', which helped to make Ken Takakura a major star in Japan. was a Japanese actor. Uchida appeared in nearly 300 films between 1950 and 1984. Kinema Junpo 1984 August vol.1 p.73 追悼 内田良平 He specialized in playing villains and yakuza roles. He got acquainted with film director Masaki Kobayashi through a friend's introduction. He was able to sign his contract with Shochiku film company with the help of Kobayashi. In 1953, he made his film debut with ''Kabe Atsukiheya'' directed by Masaki Kobayashi. His first starring role in the film was ''League of Gangsters a.k.a. Gang Life'' directed by Kinji Fukasaku. He died of myocardial infarction on 15 June 1984 at the age of 60. It is this style which is most often associated with Butoh by Westerners. Life and Butoh Tatsumi Hijikata was born in 1928, March 9 in the Akita region of northern Japan, the tenth in a family of eleven children, as Yoneyama Kunio. After having shuttled back and forth between Tokyo and his hometown from 1947, he moved to Tokyo permanently in 1952. He claims to have initially survived as a petty criminal through acts of burglary and robbery, but as he was known to embellish details of his life, it is not clear how much his account can be trusted.
