Blind Guardian
Blind Guardian is a German power metal band formed in 1984 in Krefeld, West Germany. They are often credited as one of the seminal and most influential bands in the power metal and speed metal subgenres. Nine musicians have been part of the band's lineup throughout its history, which currently includes singer Hansi Kürsch, guitarists André Olbrich and Marcus Siepen, and, since 2005, drummer Frederik Ehmke. Blind Guardian is a key player in the German heavy metal, German heavy metal scene that emerged in the mid-1980s. The band was formed in 1984 as Lucifer's Heritage by Kürsch (who also played bass at the time), Olbrich, fellow guitarist Markus Dörk, and drummer Thomas Stauch. Dörk and Stauch left the following year and were replaced by Christof Theißen and Hans-Peter Frey, respectively, who also departed before the year ended. Nightfall In Middle-Earth
''Nightfall in Middle-Earth'' is the sixth studio album by the German power metal band Blind Guardian. It was released on 28 April 1998 through Virgin Records. It is a concept album based on J. R. R. Tolkien's ''The Silmarillion'', a book of tales from the First Age of Middle-earth, recounting the troubled history of Beleriand as the Elves in Middle-earth, Elves battle with the Dark Lord Morgoth. The album contains not only songs but also spoken parts narrating parts of the story. The cover depicts a scene from ''The Silmarillion'', the elf Lúthien dancing in front of the Dark Lord Morgoth. ''Nightfall in Middle-Earth'' is widely regarded as one of Blind Guardian's best-known and best-received albums in their discography. Krefeld
Krefeld ( , ; ), also spelled Crefeld until 1925 (though the spelling was still being used in British papers throughout the Second World War), is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, in western Germany. Thomas Stauch
Thomas "Thomen" Stauch (born 11 March 1970), also known by his nickname The Omen, is a German heavy metal drummer, best known as the co-founder and former drummer of Blind Guardian. Biography He began his career in 1984 with the band Lucifer’s Heritage, performing drums on their 1985 demo, Symphonies of Doom. After changes in the lineup, the band renamed itself Blind Guardian in 1987. Stauch left Blind Guardian in April 2005, citing dissatisfaction with the direction the band had taken in its later years. His final releases with the band were the 2002 studio album '' A Night at the Opera'' and the live album '' Imaginations Through the Looking Glass''. Bradford Lee Eden is a librarian and musicologist, best known as a Tolkien scholar. Biography Bradford Lee Eden was born in 1960. He has a degree in religion from the University of North Texas and a Ph.D. in Medieval Musicology from Indiana State University. He was Dean of Library Services at Valparaiso University, Indiana. Epic Poetry

''Imaginations from the Other Side'' is the fifth studio album by the German power metal band Blind Guardian, released in 1995. The atmosphere of this album is darker in comparison to their earlier works, such as '' Battalions of Fear'', which had a relatively light tone. This album also marks the first since ''Battalions of Fear'' which Kai Hansen (Helloween, Gamma Ray) did not contribute guest vocals or guitar, and the last album to feature vocalist Hansi Kürsch as bassist. Somewhere Far Beyond
''Somewhere Far Beyond'' is the fourth studio album by the German power metal band Blind Guardian. It was released in 1992 and produced by Kalle Trapp. The cover artwork was created by Andreas Marschall, who also drew the artwork for other Blind Guardian's releases ('' Tales from the Twilight World'', ''Nightfall in Middle-Earth'', etc.). The album saw the band creating its own original sound, while still employing most of their speed/power metal techniques. The cover art and the two "Bard's Songs" gave the band its nickname "The Bards". The use of the nickname has been also extended to the fans of the group, Circle of the Bards being the now defunct fan club, and Hansi Kürsch frequently calling the fans "Bards".
