Blessed Black Wings
''Blessed Black Wings'' is the third studio album by American heavy metal band High on Fire. It would be the only with Joe Preston on bass who would be replaced by Jeff Matz. The tracks "The Face of Oblivion" and "Cometh Down Hessian" are based on stories by horror fiction author H. P. Lovecraft, ''At the Mountains of Madness'' and ''The Hound'', respectively. The vinyl version was released as a double LP and contains a bonus track, "Rapid Fire", originally by Judas Priest. ''Blessed Black Wings'' was voted 48th in the '50 Greatest Albums of the 21st Century' by ''Kerrang!'' magazine. Reception ''Blessed Black Wings'' was released to positive reception. Critics in particular praised Steve Albini's production of the album, with criticism mainly being pointed towards Matt Pike's vocals. High on Fire is an American heavy metal band from Oakland, California, that was formed in 1999. Matt Pike, the band's frontman and founder, also plays guitar for doom metal band Sleep. High on Fire won the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance with their song "Electric Messiah". Judas Priest
Judas Priest are an English heavy metal band formed in Birmingham in 1969. They have sold over 50 million albums and are frequently ranked as one of the greatest metal bands of all time. ''Leviathan'' is the second album by American heavy metal band Mastodon, released in 2004 on Relapse Records. It is Mastodon's first concept album, loosely based on the 1851 novel ''Moby-Dick'' by Herman Melville. The songs "Iron Tusk", "Blood and Thunder", "I Am Ahab" and "Seabeast" were released as singles. Three magazines awarded the album ''Album of the Year'' in 2004: ''Revolver'', ''Kerrang!'' and ''Terrorizer''. In 2009 and 2015 MetalSucks named ''Leviathan'' the best metal album of the 21st century. ''Leviathan'' was also released with an audio DVD of DVD-Video format in a limited edition set with a black and gold slipcase. Entombed is a Swedish death metal band formed in 1987 under the name of Nihilist. Entombed began their career as an early pioneer of Scandinavian death metal which initially differed from its American counterpart by its distinct "buzzsaw" guitar tone. Neurosis is an American avant-garde metal band from Oakland, California.
