Glam Metal
Glam metal (also known as hair metal or pop metal) is a subgenre of heavy metal that features pop-influenced hooks and guitar riffs, upbeat rock anthems, and slow power ballads. It borrows heavily from the fashion and image of 1970s glam rock. Early glam metal evolved directly from the glam rock movement of the 1970s, as visual elements taken from acts such as T. Rex, the New York Dolls, and David Bowie (and to a lesser extent, the punk and new wave movements taking place concurrently in New York City) were fused with the decidedly more heavy metal leaning and theatrical acts such as Alice Cooper and Kiss. The first examples of this fusion began appearing in the late 1970s and early 1980s in the United States, particularly on the Los Angeles Sunset Strip music scene. Early glam metal bands include Mötley Crüe, Hanoi Rocks, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, Bon Jovi, and Dokken. Glam metal achieved significant commercial success from approximately 1983 to 1992, bringin ...

Voices Of Wonder
Voices of Wonder a.k.a. Voice of Wonder Records was one of the most important rock record labels in Oslo, Norway in the early 1990s. The label was fronted by a small and intimate record store on Olaf Ryes plass, which in addition to the labels own artists specialized in the English Earache Records and the American Sub Pop labels. In the second half of the 1990s the store changed focus, from metal and grindcore to dance and electronic music. This alienated many of the old customers, and the label and store never managed to gain entry on the new scene. Thus, today the store is no more and the label is less active than before. Voices of Wonder also distributed for Euronymous of Mayhem's Deathlike Silence Productions Deathlike Silence Productions (DSP) was a Norwegian independent record label founded in Oslo in 1987 (initially as Posercorpse Music) that focused on black metal. DSP supported the black metal revival in the early 1990s. Helvete was the headqu .... Voice of Wonder ...

In My Dreams (Wig Wam Song)
"In My Dreams" was the entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, performed in English by Wig Wam. The song is a glam metal number, in keeping with the band's view that " rock'n'roll is the new schlager". Lead singer wonders whether his relationship is "real or just a fantasy", and tells his lover that he is "scared of waking up and you'll be gone / face the truth and I'll be all alone", a fear that he puts to rest by suggesting that they should "get into the groove" and live for the moment. The performance was as flamboyant as the music suggested, with the band dressed variously in grey spandex or wearing a military hat among other things. Paying tribute to the Orange Revolution which had taken place in host country Ukraine the year before, Glam attached an orange banner to his microphone stand. As Norway had not finished the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 in the top ten, the song was performed in the semi-final. Here, it was performed thirteenth, following 's Suntribe with ...

Gonna Get You Someday
The ''going-to'' future is a grammatical construction used in English to refer to various types of future occurrences. It is made using appropriate forms of the expression ''to be going to''.Fleischman, Suzanne, ''The Future in Thought and Language'', Cambridge Univ. Press, 1982. It is an alternative to other ways of referring to the future in English, such as the future construction formed with ''will'' (or ''shall'') – in some contexts the different constructions are interchangeable, while in others they carry somewhat different implications. Constructions analogous to the English ''going-to'' future are found in some other languages, including French, Spanish and some varieties of Arabic. Origin The ''going-to'' future originated by the extension of the spatial sense of the verb '' go'' to a temporal sense (a common change, the same phenomenon can be seen in the preposition ''before''). The original construction involved physical movement with an intention, such as "I ...
