Ble (band)
Ble (Mple) is a Greek pop rock band, formed in 1996 by George Papapostolou (guitar, sax, vocals, music) and George Parodis (lyrics). Theodosia Tsatsou (lead vocals) and Natasa Alexiou (backing vocals, violin) would complete the current line up of the band in 1996. The name ''Ble'' (Μπλε in Greek) means blue. Their music is characterised by their dark and introspective album, ''Enohes''. In 1997, Theodosia Tsatsou left the band and Ble continued successfully with a new singer, Georgia Kefala, who still remains the lead singer of the band. The group has released six studio albums, ''Enohes'' (1996), ''Ble'' (1998), ''Ela Na Deis'' (2000), ''Sta Mavra Eho Ntithei'' (2002), ''Etsi Thelo Ego Na Zo'' (2004) and ''Oneira Sou Tragoudao'' (2006). International Federation of the Phonographic Industry Greece, or simply IFPI Greece, is the Greek branch of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) and is the official charts provider and recording sales certification body for Greece. The association compiles and publishes a Top 75 album sales chart. The chart is sponsored by Cyta Hellas. Yiannis Ritsos
Yiannis Ritsos ( el, Γιάννης Ρίτσος; 1 May 1909 – 11 November 1990) was a Greek poet and communist and an active member of the Greek Resistance during World War II. While he disliked being regarded as a political poet, he has been called "the great poet of the Greek left". Life Born to a well-to-do landowning family in Monemvasia, Ritsos suffered great losses as a child. The early deaths of his mother and eldest brother from tuberculosis, his father's struggles with a mental disease, and the economic ruin of his family marked Ritsos and affected his poetry. Mount Lycabettus
Mount Lycabettus (), also known as Lycabettos, Lykabettos or Lykavittos ( el, Λυκαβηττός, ), is a Cretaceous limestone hill in the Greek capital Athens. At 277 meters (908 feet) above sea level, its summit is the highest point in Central Athens and pine trees cover its base. The name also refers to the residential neighbourhood immediately below the east of the hill. The hill is a tourist destination and can be ascended by the Lycabettus Funicular, a funicular, funicular railway which climbs the hill from a lower terminus at Kolonaki (The railway station can be found at Aristippou street). At its two peaks are the 19th century Chapel of St. George, a theatre, and a restaurant. Mythical and legendary stories Lycabettus appears in various legends. Evridiki Theokleous ( el, Ευρυδίκη Θεοκλέους, ; born 25 February 1968), known professionally as simply Evridiki, is a Greek-Cypriot rock, pop, and electropop singer. Pyx Lax
Pyx Lax (Πυξ Λαξ, meaning "punching and kicking") is a Greek rock band. Originally formed in 1989, they released their first recording in 1990, and had a critical and commercial success in the Greek music industry for fifteen years, before being dissolved in 2004. They reunited in 2011 for a tour in honor of Manos Xydous who died in 2010. In 2018, they reunited permanently. They are considered as the most successful, commercially, group in the history of Greek discography with three gold and five platinum albums (among which: '' Gia Tous Prinkipes Tis Dytikis Ochthis'', ''Stilvi'', ''Yparchoun Chrysopsara Edo?''). Filippos Pliatsikas (Greek: Φίλιππος Πλιάτσικας) is a musician, composer and lyricist. He was the main composer, lyricist, and lead singer of the Entekhno rock group Pyx Lax (Πυξ Λαξ) and now a solo artist. Career Filippos Pliatsikas was born in Athens and has been involved in music from the age of 12. Antonis Kanakis ( gr, Αντώνης Κανάκης; born Antonios Doumas (Αντώνιος Δούμας), 18 February 1969) is a Greek television host and an actor.
