"Blaze" is Kotoko's eleventh maxi single produced by I've Sound under the Geneon Entertainment label. The single was released on March 12, 2008. The title track was used as the second introductory theme for the anime series ''Shakugan no Shana Second'', starting with episode 16 :ja:灼眼のシャナ which was broadcast on January 31, 2008. The B-side, "Sociometry", was used as the ending theme for ''Shakugan no Shana Second''. Kotoko (singer)
Kotoko (stylized as KOTOKO, born January 19) is a Japanese J-pop musician, singer and songwriter from Sapporo, Hokkaido. She began her singing career in 2000, debuting as a member of the trance group I've Sound and releasing her first mini-album ''Sora o Tobetara'' that same year. She was then signed to the Rondorobe record label from 2004 to 2010, under which she released the albums ''Hane'', '' Garasu no Kaze'', ''Uzu-Maki'' and ''Epsilon no Fune''. She signed to Warner Home Video in 2011, and remained with the label until 2018. She is currently signed with NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan. Kotoko composes and writes lyrics (for herself as well as other singers in I've Sound) for numerous other song collections. Shakugan No Shana
, also known simply as , is a Japanese light novel series written by Yashichiro Takahashi with illustrations by Noizi Ito. ASCII Media Works published 26 novels from November 2002 to November 2012 under their Dengeki Bunko imprint. The story focuses on Yuji Sakai, a high school boy who inadvertently becomes involved in an age-old conflict between forces of balance and imbalance in existence. In the process, he befriends a fighter for the balancing force and names her "Shana". The series incorporates fantasy and slice of life elements into its tale. Two manga adaptations were published by ASCII Media Works in ''Dengeki Daioh'' and ''Dengeki Maoh''.
