Andre Blay (July 27, 1937 – August 24, 2018) was an American businessman, film producer, and studio executive. Role in growth of home video industry Blay co-founded Stereodyne, the nation's first eight-track and cassette duplication company, in 1966. Blay then founded an audio/video production and duplication company in 1968 called Magnetic Video. He also started the Video Club of America, a direct-mail sales operation through which he offered the video cassettes produced and duplicated at Magnetic Video. He advertised the club through TV Guide, and nine thousand users initially joined the club. That subsequently provided the model for and enabled the creation of the first video rental stores, many of which were soon started thereafter. He was later recognized by the Consumer Electronics Association as creating the idea that "sparked a retail revolution as hundreds of mom-and-pop video rental and sales stores popped up in every community in America." Eddie Blay
Edward "Eddie" Blay (9 November 1937 – 15 October 2006) was a Ghanaian boxer. He competed at the 1960 and 1964 Olympics and won a bronze medal in the light welterweight (63.5 kg) category in 1964. Eva Alterman Blay
Eva Alterman Blay, a Brazilian sociologist, was born in São Paulo in 1937. She is a pioneer of women’s rights in Brazil and is the founder of the Center for the Study of Women and Gender Rights at the University of São Paulo. She is active in politics as a member of the centrist Brazilian Social Democracy Party, and was the first woman to sit in the Brazilian Senate. She has Master's, Doctoral and Postdoctoral degrees in Sociology. Frederick Worsemao Armah Blay a lawyer, a Ghanaian politician and a member of the Second, Third and Fourth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing the Ellembelle Constituency in the Western Region of Ghana. George Blay (born 7 August 1980) is a Ghanaian former professional footballer who played as a right-back. Club career George Blay was born on 7 August 1980 in Elmina, Ghana and started to play football at Sekondi Hasaacas. He went to play in Belgium for Standard Liège, making his Belgian First Division debut under coach Aad de Mos on 31 August 1997 in a 3–0 away victory against Germinal Ekeren. Josep Blay Boqué (born 2 September 1966) known professionally as Pep Blay, is a Catalan writer, script writer and music journalist. As a music journalist, he has interviewed a variety of performers, including Lou Reed, The Cure and Nick Cave. He often works with Spanish artists, including Enrique Bunbury, Iván Ferreiro, and Amparanoia. Biography Blay was born on 2 September 1966 in Tarragona, Spain, the youngest of three children. Ruth Blay
Ruth Blay (June 10, 1737 – December 30, 1768) was executed by hanging after being convicted of concealment of a stillborn illegitimate child, which was later found on the floor of the barn next to the house in which she was staying. She was not convicted of killing the baby. She was granted 3 reprieves before the execution. Blay was the last female executed by the state (then a colony) of New Hampshire. She was executed by Thomas Packer, Portsmouth’s High Sheriff, who also oversaw the execution of Eliphaz Dow in 1755. Blay split her time between teaching in nearby towns and being a seamstress. Robert Samuel Blay, was a Ghanaian barrister and judge. He was a Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana during the First Republic. He is often referred to as the first Nzema people, Nzema lawyer. He was president of the Ghana Bar Association on two occasions and also a member of the first board of directors of the Bank of Ghana.
