Brian Blanchfield
Brian Blanchfield is an American poet and essayist. Early life and education He was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1973, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Warren Wilson College MFA Program for Writers. He is the author of two books of poetry, ''Not Even Then'' (2004) and ''A Several World'' (2014), and a book of essays/autobiography, ''Proxies'' (2016). Writings ''A Several World'' was the 2014 recipient of the James Laughlin Award and was a longlist finalist for the National Book Award. The book takes its title from a 17th-century poem by Robert Herrick, and deals with questions about subjectivity and individuality versus the collective. ''Proxies'' is a collection of 24 single-subject essays that concludes with a 21-page rolling endnote, "Correction." Dick Blanchfield
Richard Blanchfield (28 September 1939 – 20 July 2019) was an Irish hurler. At club level he played with Lisdowney and also lined out at inter-county level with the Kilkenny senior hurling team. Career Blanchfield first played hurling at club level with Lisdowney. He was part of the team that beat Knocktoper to win the Kilkenny JHC title in 1960 and gain senior status for the club. Blanchfield's performances at club level resulted in him joining the Kilkenny senior hurling team. He came on as a substitute for Eddie Keher when Kilkenny beat Tipperary in the 1967 All-Ireland final. Blanchfield was again introduced as a substitute when Kilkenny were beaten by Wexford in the following year's Leinster final. Death Blanchfield died on 29 July 2019, at the age of 79. Paddy Blanchfield
Patrick Blanchfield (18 December 1911 – 20 June 1980) was a Labour Party member of the New Zealand Parliament for Westland and the West Coast. Biography Early life and career Blanchfield was born in 1911 in Greymouth where his father, Patrick, owned a bakery. He was educated at Marist Brothers' Primary School where he won the Seddon Medal for being the school districts top scholar. He received secondary schooling at St Bede's College, Christchurch. Despite receiving a formal education Blanchfield still stuck to the "self-taught tradition" of other West Coasters and educated himself further on his favourite subjects, those of literature and poetry. He was also to compose his own poetry which were compiled in the 1971 book ''The Ballads of a Coaster''. In 1938 he married Anne Jane Glen Faulkner. Peter Blanchfield
Peter Blanchfield (18 October 1910 – 11 November 1959) was an Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club James Stephens and was a member of the Kilkenny senior inter-county team from 1935 until 1945. Playing career Club Blanchfield played his club hurling with the famous James Stephens club in Kilkenny and enjoyed much success. He won his first senior county title in 1935. It was the club's first ever victory in a county final. Blanchfield added a second county medal to his collection in 1937. Inter-county Blanchfield first came to prominence on the inter-county scene with Kilkenny in 1935. That year he collected his first Leinster title following a victory over Laois. The subsequent All-Ireland final saw Blanchfield's take on Limerick for the second time in three years.
