Blanca Guadalupe López Morales
Blanca López de Mariscal or Blanca Guadalupe López Morales is a Professor emeritus and researcher in literature at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey, México. López de Mariscal received her masters in Spanish from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in 1994, and her PhD in History from the Universidad iberoamericana, Mexico in 2002. She is currently a Research Professor at the Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico, where she headed the graduate program in Humanities Studies from 2003 to 2015. Her specialties include Colonial Literature, History of Books and Reading, Travel journals and Sermons from the 16th to 18th century. López Morales also founded the Revista de Humanidades of the Tec de Monterrey, editing it from 1996 to 2006. She has also been the editor of the Boletín de la Asociación Internacional de Hispanistas. Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (National System of Researchers) or SNI is a governmental agency established in Mexico in 1984 to promote both the quantity and quality of research in Mexico, especially in the sciences. In the 1980s, the country suffered from “ brain drain,” with talent leaving Mexico for better economic opportunities in other places in the world. An academy ( Attic Greek: Ἀκαδήμεια; Koine Greek Ἀκαδημία) is an institution of secondary or tertiary higher learning (and generally also research or honorary membership). The name traces back to Plato's school of philosophy, founded approximately 385 BC at Akademia, a sanctuary of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and skill, north of Athens, Greece.
