Blair Urlich
Blair Wolfgang Urlich (born 26 January 1975) is a New Zealand former professional rugby union player. Rugby career A loose forward from Kaitaia, Urlich played for Northland under-19s and got his start in first-class rugby in 1998 with North Harbour, going on to make 50 provincial appearances. He featured once for the Blues in each of the 2000 and 2001 Super 12 seasons, then found more regular selection during their 2002 campaign, playing eight games. After being overlooked by the Blues in 2003, Urlich continued his career in Japan, playing for the Mitsubishi DynaBoars also known as Mitsubishi Juko Sagamihara Rugby Club, are a Japanese rugby union team based in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Kaitaia ( mi, Kaitāia) is a town in the Far North District of New Zealand, at the base of the Aupouri Peninsula, about 160 km northwest of Whangārei. The Māori All Blacks, previously called the New Zealand Maori, New Zealand Maoris and New Zealand Natives, are a rugby union team from New Zealand. They are a representative team of the New Zealand Rugby Union, and a prerequisite for playing is that the player has Māori whakapapa (genealogy). In the past this rule was not strictly applied; non–Māori players who looked Māori were often selected in the team. These included a few Pacific island players and a couple of African descent. Today all players have their ancestry verified before selection in the team. The team's first match was in 1888 against Hawke's Bay. This was followed by a tour of Europe in 1888 and 1889 where the team played their first games against national teams, beating Ireland in Dublin before losing to Wales and England.
