Barbara Blaine
Barbara Ann Blaine (July 6, 1956 – September 24, 2017) was the founder in 1988 and president until February 2017 of Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), a national advocacy group in the United States for survivors of clergy, clerical sexual abuse. It has been involved in the efforts by survivors to gain compensation and action by the Catholic Church and other religious organizations to end clergy abuse and acknowledge past cover-ups. Based in Chicago, Illinois, until its 2016 relocation to St. Louis, SNAP expanded to having chapters in numerous US cities, as well as organizations in other countries. Suessa Baldridge Blaine (February 25, 1860 – May 15, 1932) was an American writer of temperance pageants. She was connected with the Federated Woman's Clubs and organizations. Early life and education Suessa Baldridge was born at Varick, New York, February 25, 1860. She was educated at the Wheaton College and Washington University in St. Louis. Blaine was reared in a Prohibition home, and while still a young girl, she became a very active participant at temperance meetings, where she won great favor for her songs and recitations. Robert Stickney Blaine
Sir Robert Stickney Blaine (30 January 1816 – 15 December 1897) was a leading Conservative politician in the English City of Bath, who was mainly involved in local politics, but sat in the House of Commons from 1885 to 1886. He was the son of Benjamin Blaine of Hull. Following a private education, he moved to Summerhill Park, Bath. He was a magistrate and member of the city council, where he became leader of the Conservative group. In 1872-73 he held the office of mayor. In 1885 he was elected as one Bath's two members of parliament. However, he found the duties of the office burdensome, and took the opportunity to retire from the House of Commons when a further election was held in 1886, returning to local politics. Jerry Blaine (December 31, 1910 – March 14, 1973) was a bandleader, co-founder of Jubilee Records, record distributor, and singer who recorded 18 sides for the Master and Bluebird labels from 1937 to 1938. Biography He was born to a Jewish family in Allenwood, New Jersey on December 31, 1910. In May 1946, Herb Abramson founded Jubilee Records with Jerry Blaine as his business partner. In September 1947, Abramson had Blaine buy him out and Blaine became the sole proprietor of Jubilee. Jubilee's first hit record was in 1948 with the Orioles' song " It's Too Soon To Know" (# 1 R&B, # 14 pop). The song was originally issued on Blaine's It's a Natural label. Dan Blaine
Daniel Blaine (1891–1958) was a professional football player for the Staten Island Stapletons from 1915 until 1924. In 1915 he, along with three other players, formed the team to play other semi-pro teams from New York and New Jersey. He suspended his football career in 1918 to serve in the United States military during World War I. Once the war ended, Blaine took over sole ownership of the Stapletons. He stayed in the Stapleton lineup at halfback until ending his playing career in 1924 at age 33. After his retirement from football, Blaine focused solely on owning and managing the team. After a November 14, 1926 33–0 loss to the Newark Bears, Blaine promptly hired most of the Newark players, including star rookie Doug Wycoff, who were still owed money by the Bears due to the team's financial problems.
