Blackfriars Priory School
Blackfriars Priory School is a private Roman Catholic school for boys situated in Prospect, an inner-northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is conducted by the Dominican Friars of the Province of the Assumption. History The school opened in 1953 in its current location which was then a property called "St Catharine's". The house, which is now part of the school, was built for James Angas Johnson (1841-1909), a grandson of George Fife Angas. Statue In November 2017, Blackfriars covered up and eventually removed an outdoor statue of St. Martin de Porres after its "unintentionally provocative design . . . created a flurry of activity on social media, prompting the school to take quick action," according to a news report. The statue depicted the figure of St. Martin "handing a young boy a loaf of bread, which appears to have emerged from his cloak." The boy's head is waist-high with the body of the priest. Prospect, South Australia
Prospect is the seat of the City of Prospect and an inner northern suburb of greater Adelaide. It is located north of Adelaide's centre. Surrounding suburbs include Kilburn, Fitzroy, Medindie and Devon Park. Jack Snelling
John James "Jack" Snelling (born 8 November 1972) is a former Australian politician. He was the Labor member for the South Australian House of Assembly seat of Playford from the 1997 election until his retirement in 2018. Snelling left the Labor Party in 2021 to found the Family First Party. Sean Tasker
Sean Tasker (born 18 June 1968) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Tasker was North Adelaide's leading goal-kicker in 1989 but played as a full-back in their 1991 premiership team. A foundation player at Adelaide, he made his AFL debut in 1991 at the age of 23. Oleg Markov (Belarusian: Олег Маркаў, born 8 May 1996) is a professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Gold Coast Suns in the Australian Football League (AFL). Martin McKinnon
Martin "Marty" McKinnon (born 5 July 1975 in Adelaide) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Adelaide, Geelong and the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). McKinnon was recruited by Adelaide in the 1992 AFL draft, with their first ever national draft pick. He was the youngest player on Adelaide's list at the time and played for Central District in the SANFL when not appearing with Adelaide. He made his AFL debut late in the 1994 AFL season and was a regular in the team the following year, playing mostly as a wingman. Joe Mullen (footballer)
Joe Mullen (born 5 January 1964 in Adelaide, Australia) is an Australian former football (soccer) player. As a player, he won three National Soccer League titles. On 1 May 2008 Mullen was appointed as Adelaide United's inaugural youth team coach. In 2013, Mullen was appointed the new manager of National Premier Leagues South Australia football club Campbelltown City SC. Mark Jamar (born 9 August 1983) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club and Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Benjamin Hart (born 9 July 1974) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League. He was an assistant coach with the Collingwood Football Club from 2012 to 2016. Early career Ben Hart made his debut in the SANFL for North Adelaide in a semi final in 1990 at 16 years of age, he went on to combine his college commitments with those of the North Adelaide Roosters until he was selected by the Crows in 1992. Callum Ferguson
Callum James Ferguson (born 21 November 1984) is a former Australian cricketer and commentator who has represented Australia in all three forms of international cricket. He also represented South Australia in the JLT One-Day Cup.
