East Lancs Myllennium Lolyne
The East Lancs Lolyne is a type of double-decker bus body built by East Lancs. It is the double-decker version of the Spryte. It continued the long line of 'misspelt' names which continued until the Scania OmniDekka. It was built on the Dennis Trident 2 twin-axle low-floor bus chassis and it can be built as either a closed top bus or an open-top bus. Myllennium Lolyne The facelifted East Lancs Myllennium Lolyne superseded the original Lolyne in 2002. The structure of the Myllennium Lolyne was built using the Alusuisse "System M5438" system, for optimum strength. Glazing was with laminated glass, and gasket glazing came with the bus as standard - with bonded glazing available - and had hopper opening windows. The heating was thermostatically controlled and windows and air vents provided ventilation. The seating was trimmed in customer's required moquette. The Fylde () is a coastal plain in western Lancashire, England. The Leyland Olympian was a 2-axle and 3-axle double-decker bus chassis manufactured by Leyland between 1980 and 1993. It was the last Leyland bus model in production. Construction The Olympian had the same chassis and running gear as the Leyland Titan integral double deck bus which was ordered in large numbers by London Transport. At the time there was a demand for non-integral vehicles, because operators wished to have the chassis bodied by other manufacturers. Thus Leyland created the B45 project, which was named Olympian, in 1979. This was in many ways an update of the popular Bristol VRT (Bristol Commercial Vehicles merged with Leyland in 1965), with many VR customers choosing Olympians. The MCW Metrorider, launched at the 1986 Motor Show, was a minibus designed built by Metro Cammell Weymann (MCW) between 1986 and 1989. Constructed in two lengths, 7.0 m and 8.4 m, the Metrorider was an bus manufacturing, integral bus, marking it out from its van-based rivals of the time. It was the second purpose-built minibus design (after the rather lightweight VW-based Optare CityPacer). The Transport Act 1985 was an Act of Parliament in the United Kingdom. It introduced privatised and deregulated bus services throughout Great Britain and came into effect in October of 1986. The Act was created as a response to growing concern about the environmental effect the private transportation was having and the public's objection to an increase in road construction.
