Black Socialists In America
Black Socialists in America (BSA) is an American Socialism, socialist Political organisation, political group that organizes predominantly among black working-class people and whose stated goal is to create a national platform and network for those who identify as Black American socialists. Since its foundation, the group has worked on Grassroots lobbying, grassroots initiatives with organizations across the country, received national media coverage and an endorsement from Noam Chomsky. The group has also hosted a number of public panels and discussions featuring both civil rights era and radical black leaders such as Jamal Joseph. Members of the group acting on behalf of the organization have also been represented in a number of other lectures or interviews done by figures such as economist Richard D. Revolutionary Socialism
Revolutionary socialism is a political philosophy, doctrine, and tradition within socialism that stresses the idea that a social revolution is necessary to bring about structural changes in society. More specifically, it is the view that revolution is a necessary precondition for transitioning from a capitalist to a socialist mode of production. Revolution is not necessarily defined as a violent insurrection; it is defined as a seizure of political power by mass movements of the working class so that the state is directly controlled or abolished by the working class as opposed to the capitalist class and its interests.Thompson, Carl D.
