It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. Brand Nubian is an American hip hop group from New Rochelle, New York, composed of three emcees (Grand Puba, Sadat X and Lord Jamar), and formerly three DJs (DJ Alamo, DJ Sincere, and DJ Stud Doogie). Their debut studio album, '' One for All'' (1990), is one of the most popular and acclaimed alternative hip hop albums of the 1990s, known for socially conscious and political lyrics inspired by the teachings of The Nation of Gods and Earths. Recording sessions took place at the Thingamajig Lab in Brooklyn. Production was handled by the P Brothers, Kleph Dollaz, A Kid Called Roots, Ben Gebhardt, Diamond D, DJ Spinna, Ge-ology, Madsol-Desar, Minnesota, Sha Boogie and Vin The Chin. Derek Murphy (born December 29, 1968), better known as Sadat X, is an American rapping, rapper, best known as a member of alternative hip hop group Brand Nubian. Originally known as Derek X, Sadat takes his name from former Egyptian president Anwar Sadat. In 1996, Sadat recorded on the Red Hot Organization's compilation CD ''America Is Dying Slowly'', alongside Biz Markie, Wu-Tang Clan, Fat Joe and others. The CD, meant to raise awareness of the AIDS epidemic among African American men, was called "a masterpiece" by ''The Source''. Biography Sadat X is involved in teaching children. He has worked as an elementary school teacher in New Rochelle, New York, qualified as a firefighter, and coaches children's basketball for the New York City Basketball League. On March 23, 2010, Sadat X released ''Wild Cowboys II'', the sequel to his 1996 solo debut ''Wild Cowboys'', on Fat Beats Records.
