"Black Eyed Boy" is the third single from Scottish rock band Texas's fourth studio album, ''White on Blonde'' (1997). The song was released on 28 July 1997 and reached number five on the UK Singles Chart. Elsewhere, the song reached the top 50 in Australia, Belgium, France, Ireland, Israel and Sweden. Critical reception A reviewer from ''Music Week'' rated the song four out of five, noting that "Texas immerse themselves in Motown on this thumpingly catchy Supremes-sounding groove, conjuring up a perfect summer gift for radio." A few weeks later, it was given five out of five and picked as Single of the Week. Texas (band)
Texas are a Scottish alternative rock band from Glasgow. They were founded in 1986 by Johnny McElhone (formerly of the bands Altered Images and Hipsway) and Sharleen Spiteri on lead vocals. Texas made their performing debut in March 1988 at the University of Dundee. They took their name from the 1984 Wim Wenders movie ''Paris, Texas (film), Paris, Texas''. The band released their debut album ''Southside (Texas album), Southside'' in 1989, along with the debut single "I Don't Want a Lover", which was a top-ten hit on the UK Singles Chart and peaked within the top ten of the charts in many other European countries. "Say What You Want" is a song by Scottish rock band Texas, written by band members Johnny McElhone and Sharleen Spiteri. It was the first single to be released from the group's fourth studio album, '' White on Blonde'' (1997). Released in January 1997, it is the band's biggest hit commercially, peaking at number three on the UK Singles Chart. As of February 2015 the single has sold 451,000 copies in United Kingdom. The accompanying music video released to promote the single shows lead singer Sharleen Spiteri in a futuristic room. The Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA; ) was Israel's public broadcaster from 1948 to 2017. ''DV'' (''Dagblaðið Vísir'') is an online newspaper in Iceland published by Torg ehf. It came into existence as a daily newspaper in 1981 when two formerly independent newspapers, Vísir and Dagblaðið, merged. Early on it was one of the largest newspapers in Iceland and at one point had a 64% readership in Iceland. Alistair Manson McErlaine (born 31 October 1968) is a Scottish guitarist, best known for his work with the band Texas, which he has been a member of since 1988. Ally is also a member of Red Sky July who released their self-titled debut album on 17 October 2011. Biography McErlaine married Shelly Poole from Alisha's Attic in 2001. Other works aside from Texas, included a guest appearance on Rufus Wainwright's second album, '' Poses'' (2001), and Alain Bashung's 1994 album '' Chatterton''. He was also the lead guitarist on the soundtrack album for the 2004 remake of the film, '' Alfie'', along with Mick Jagger and David A. Stewart.
