Black Dawn (video Game)
''Black Dawn'' is a helicopter-combat simulation, published by Virgin Interactive Entertainment. It was released on the Sony PlayStation and the Sega Saturn in 1996. Plot Set in 1998, the player controls a helicopter ace recruited into a black ops counterterrorism strike force named Operation Black Dawn. The player pilots the agile AH-69 Mohawk, an advanced combat helicopter with a powerful arsenal of weaponry. Gameplay The game consists of seven campaigns that take place in different areas, and each campaign has a number of different missions. In addition to search-and-destroy objectives, there are hostages that require saving. The game has drawn comparisons with ''Soviet Strike'', another helicopter simulator released in the same year. Black Ops Entertainment
Black Ops Entertainment was an American mobile app developer and former video game developer located in Santa Monica, California. From 1994 to 2006, it developed sixteen games for several platforms, including the PlayStation, Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox. ''Agile Warrior F-111X'' is a video game developed by Black Ops and published by Virgin Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation and Windows. It was the first title produced by the studio, initially developing the title from home before they gained their Santa Monica offices. Gameplay ''Agile Warrior'' is a F-111X flight simulator with half a dozen missions. Reception ''Next Generation'' reviewed the PlayStation version of the game, rating it two stars out of five, and stated that "if you stick with it, there is some fun to be had, but not enough to overcome the game's many small and large frustrations". Distance Fog
Distance fog is a technique used in 3D computer graphics to enhance the perception of distance by shading distant objects differently. Because many of the shapes in graphical environments are relatively simple, and complex shadows are difficult to render, many graphics engines employ a "fog" gradient so objects further from the camera are progressively more obscured by haze and by aerial perspective. This technique simulates the effect of light scattering, which causes more distant objects to appear lower in contrast, especially in outdoor environments. Visibility in a natural haze declines exponentially, not linearly, with distance due to scattering.
