''Black City Breakdown (1985–1986)'' is the first of two L.A. Guns compilation albums featuring their third singer Paul Black. It was released in 2000, recorded over 1985–1986. ''Cocked & Re-Loaded'' is a re-recording of L.A. Guns' 1989 album ''Cocked & Loaded''. It also includes a remix of "Rip and Tear". This album also has at least three different album covers. Like their previous studio album, ''Greatest Hits and Black Beauties'', this album consists of re-recorded, old material. Their 7th studio album ''Man in the Moon'' is all new material, after the band had stopped releasing albums of new versions of older songs. Man In The Moon (L
In many cultures, several pareidolic images of a human face, head or body are recognized in the disc of the full moon; they are generally known as the Man in the Moon. The images are based on the appearance of the dark areas (known as lunar maria) and the lighter-colored highlands (and some lowlands) of the lunar surface. Origin There are various explanations for how the Man in the Moon came to be. A longstanding European tradition holds that the man was banished to the Moon for some crime. Jewish lore (as this predates the Christians) commonly held that he is the man caught gathering sticks on the Sabbath and sentenced by God to death by stoning in the Book of Numbers XV.32–36. Paul Mars Black (born Paul Marmorstein; March 17, 1959) is an American singer and drummer. He is most notable for his time as lead vocalist in L.A. Guns, with whom he wrote most of their self-titled debut album. Early life and career Born in San Francisco, California, Black's roots were in bluegrass. In the 1970s, his high school rock band was called Your Mother. He also played in several jazz cover bands. In 1978, he was a percussion major at San Jose State University. Black moved to Los Angeles in May 1980, still using his given name, Paul Martin Marmorstein. His first L.A. band was Mad Captions who played CBGB in New York and The Hot Club in Philadelphia with The Dead Boys. In 1981, Paul joined The Mau-Mau's, a Los Angeles-based punk band which was fronted by Rick Wilder of The Berlin Brats. During Paul's time with The Mau-Mau's, he shortened his name to "Paul Mars." Tracii Guns
Tracy Richard Irving Ulrich (born January 20, 1966), known professionally as Tracii Guns, is an American guitarist best known as the co-founder of glam metal group L.A. Guns, as well as the Supergroup (music), supergroups named Brides of Destruction and Contraband (band), Contraband. He was also a founding member of Guns N' Roses, but left shortly afterwards and was replaced by guitarist Slash (musician), Slash. Early life Ulrich's uncle Ron taught him how to play guitar at a young age. Ulrich attended Fairfax High School (Los Angeles), Fairfax High in Los Angeles. While there, he met future L.A. Guns members Rob Gardner (musician), Robert Gardner and Michael Jagosz. The three formed a band called Pyrrhus with bassist Dani Tull. Ulrich (now going by Tracii Guns), Gardner, and Jagosz recruited Danish bassist Ole Beich for their new band in 1983, officially starting L.A. Guns after leaving Guns 'N Roses. Robert Stoddard (musician)
The Dogs D'Amour are an English bluesey hard rock band formed in London in 1983. Over the years the band has had various line-ups, the only constant being vocalist Tyla. Their music has been described as a mixture of the Rolling Stones, the Faces and glam punk. Their 1989 release, '' A Graveyard of Empty Bottles'', reached No. 16 on the UK Albums Chart while the single "Satellite Kid" reached No. 26 on the UK Singles Chart. In 1991, the band broke up onstage, before reforming briefly in the early 1990s for the release of their sixth studio album '' More Unchartered Heights of Disgrace''. Nickey "Beat" Alexander
Nickey Alexander (a.k.a. Nickey Beat) is an American drummer. Biography Born Jeffrey Ivisovich, Nickey Beat lived in San Pedro, Los Angeles before moving to Hollywood to focus on music. There in 1977, alongside Cliff Roman and brothers, John and Dix Denney, he founded The Weirdos. He left the band by 1980, and rejoined in 1988 through 1991. In 1978 he briefly joined The Germs, appearing on the ''Lexicon Devil'' EP. In 1983, he joined The Dickies but left a year later. In 1984 he was involved with The Mau-Mau's, replacing future L.A. Guns vocalist Paul Black on drums. In 1985, Alexander himself joined L.A. Guns. He played drums on the band's debut album, ''L.A. Guns'' in 1987, before leaving the band prior to the album's 1988 release. He later guested on 1994’s ''Vicious Circle''.
