Björkborn Bridge
The Björkborn Bridge ( sv, Björkbornsbron) is a wooden arch bridge for pedestrians and bikers crossing Timsälven in Karlskoga, Sweden, linking the former residence of Alfred Nobel; Björkborn Manor, and the surrounding area, with Karlskoga. The bridge, was erected following the demolition of the, poorly maintained, former-standing bridge, in 2018. The now-standing bridge was designed in collaboration with three architecture students; Kristoffer Hamrin, Nour Fansa and Mateusz Szpotowicz from the architectural department at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The bridge opened on Walpurgis Night in 2022. Tied-arch Bridge
A tied-arch bridge is an arch bridge in which the outward horizontal forces of the arch(es) caused by tension at the arch ends to a foundation are countered by equal tension of its own gravity plus any element of the total deck structure such great arch(es) support. The arch(es) have strengthened chord(s) that run to a strong part of the deck structure or to independent tie-rods below the arch ends. Description Thrusts downwards on a tied-arch bridge deck are translated, as tension, by vertical ties between the deck and the arch, tending to flatten it and thereby to push its tips outward into the abutments, like for other arch bridges. However, in a tied-arch or bowstring bridge, these movements are restrained not by the abutments but by the strengthened chord, which ties these tips together, taking the thrusts as tension, rather like the string of a bow that is being flattened. Tony Ring (; born 3 March 1964), is a Sweden, Swedish politician and former racing driver who is serving as the municipal commissioner, chairman of the municipal board in Karlskoga Municipality. He is a member of the Moderate Party. Between 2014 and 2018 he was the leader of the opposition in Karlskoga. He was elected chairman of the municipal board following the 2018 election. Ingrid Maria Larsson (born 20 January 1956 in Långasjö) is Swedish politician of the Christian Democrats who has been Governor of Örebro County since May 2015, appointed by the cabinet of Stefan Löfven. She previously served as Minister for Children and the Elderly from 2010 to 2014 and as Minister for the Elderly and Public Health from 2006 to 2010. A member of the Christian Democrats, she was an MP of the Swedish Riksdag from 1998 to 2014. Örebro County ( sv, Örebro län) is a county or '' län'' in central Sweden. It borders the counties of Västra Götaland, Värmland, Dalarna, Västmanland, Södermanland and Östergötland. Walpurgis Night (), an abbreviation of Saint Walpurgis Night (from the German ), also known as Saint Walpurga's Eve (alternatively spelled Saint Walburga's Eve), is the eve of the Christian feast day of Saint Walpurga, an 8th-century abbess in Francia, and is celebrated on the night of 30 April and the day of 1 May. This feast commemorates the canonization of Saint Walpurga and the movement of her relics to Eichstätt, both of which occurred on 1 May 870. Saint Walpurga was hailed by the Christians of Germany for battling "pest, rabies, and whooping cough, as well as against witchcraft". Karlskoga Municipality (''Karlskoga kommun'') is a municipalities of Sweden, municipality in Örebro County in central Sweden. Its seat is located in the stad (Sweden), city of Karlskoga.
