Bjarne Sandemose
Bjarne Walter William Sandemose (17 April 1924 – 21 April 2013) was a Norwegian of Danish descent. He was born in Denmark as a son of writer Aksel Sandemose. The family migrated to Norway in 1929. He is best known for his cooperation with Ivo Caprino, specifically with building the prop car ''Il Tempo Gigante'' for the movie ''Pinchcliffe Grand Prix'', for many years Norway's best grossing film. Sandemose is also credited for building the Ivo Caprinos Supervideograf. Sandemose and Caprino was jointly awarded the Honorary Amanda Award in 1995. Sandemose was the father of Iben Sandemose, father-in-law of Trond Brænne Trond Brænne (31 July 1953 – 16 March 2013) was a Norwegian actor, author and radio personality, best known for his many theater and television roles. Aksel Sandemose
Aksel Sandemose (né Axel Nielsen; 19 March 1899 – 6 August 1965) was a Danish-Norwegian writer whose works frequently elucidate the theme that the repressions of society lead to violence. Biography Axel Nielsen was born at Nykøbing Mors on the island of Mors in Denmark. His parents were Jørgen Nielsen (1859–1928) and Amalie Jacobsdatter (1861–1926). His father was a factory foreman. He was the second youngest of nine children. He attended Staby vinterlærerskole 1915–1916. His mother was originally from Sandermosen at Maridalen in Aker, Norway. He changed his surname to Sandemose in 1921. Sandemose boarded a schooner for Norway at the age of seventeen. He was a sailor and lumberjack in Newfoundland. Ivo Caprino
Ivo Caprino (17 February 1920 – 8 February 2001) was a Norwegian film director and writer, best known for his puppet films. His most noted film, '' Flåklypa Grand Prix'' ("Pinchcliffe Grand Prix"), was made in 1975. Early life Caprino was born 17 February 1920 in Oslo, the son of Italian furniture designer Mario Caprino and the artist, Ingeborg "Ingse" Caprino nee Gude, who was a granddaughter of the painter Hans Gude. Ingse Gude was a watercolorist, illustrator, puppet maker, and author, born in Oybin, Saxony. The Caprinos divorced around 1927, and Ingse married the painter Bernhard Folkestad. After his death, she lived with the painter and art critic, Pola Gauguin. Early career In the mid-1940s, Caprino helped his mother design puppets for a puppet theatre, which inspired him to try making a film using his mother's designs. Ivo Caprinos Supervideograf
Ivo Caprinos Supervideograf (lit. "Ivo Caprino's Super Videographer") is a type of cinema technology used several places in Norway. It was developed by animator and filmmaker Ivo Caprino. It was introduced as part of a entertainment centre at Nordkapp in 1988. The screen spanned 225 degrees and utilized five film projectors. The films are created with five cameras which are mounted together. It can be mounted under a helicopter, on a sled and used under water. By 2004, more than 30 films had been made. In 1995 a "Super Videographer" was added to the amusement park Hunderfossen Familiepark, which also features other themes from Ivo Caprino's animation universe. Iben Sandemose (born 13 July 1950) is a Norwegian illustrator, children's writer, playwright and biographer. She was born in Oslo, and is the granddaughter of Aksel Sandemose. Among her children's books is ''Vingemus og kattejammer'' from 1987, and ''Ringeren & Notre Madame'' from 1994, which was adapted for theatre and staged at Centralteatret in 1994. Trond Brænne (31 July 1953 – 16 March 2013) was a Norwegian actor, author and radio personality, best known for his many theater and television roles. He was also a decorated writer of children's songs and literature. Personal life Brænne lived with fellow author Iben Sandemose. His son, Bendik Brænne, is a musician and author, and was, together with his father and with his sister, Kaia Brænne, nominated for the 2010 Brage Prize in the category children's literature. In 1999, Brænne suffered a series of heart attacks, which required him to have a heart transplant, an event that affected him deeply.
