Christian Bizot
Christian Bizot (1928 – 7 July 2002) was a French winemaker, the head of the Bollinger Champagne house, and the fifth generation to run the family business. Biography Christian Bizot was born in Paris in 1928. He was the niece of Lily Bollinger. He was the son of Henry Bizot, president of the Banque Nationale de Paris, and Guillemette Law de Lauriston-Boubers, younger sister of Lily Bollinger. Bizot joined Bollinger in 1952, aged 24. Another of her nephews Claude d'Hautefeuille, took over the running of Bollinger when Lily retired in 1971 and ran it until 1978, when Bizot took over as president. He married Marie-Hélène, and they had five sons, Henry, Charles, Étienne, Guy and Xavier. François Bizot
François Bizot (born 8 February 1940) is a French anthropologist, the only Westerner to have survived imprisonment by the Khmer Rouge. Arrival in Cambodia Bizot arrived in Cambodia in 1965 to study Buddhism practised in the countryside. He travelled extensively around Cambodia, researching the history and customs of its dominant religion. He speaks fluent Khmer, French and English and was married to a Cambodian with whom he had a daughter, Hélène, in 1968. When the Vietnam War spilled into Cambodia, Bizot was employed at the Angkor Conservation Office, restoring ceramics and bronzes. Bizot, at first, welcomed the American intervention in Cambodia, hoping that they might counter the rising influence of the Communists. Henry Bizot
Henry Bizot (1901–1990) was a French banker, and the first chairman of Banque Nationale de Paris. In 1964, he became chairman of Comptoir national d'escompte de Paris (CNEP), and in 1966, the first chairman of Banque Nationale de Paris, following CNEP's merger with Banque nationale pour le commerce et l'industrie (BNCI). Adjutant Maurice Bizot (November 5, 1896 – November 27, 1925) was a French World War I flying ace credited with ten confirmed aerial victories. Early life Maurice Bizot was born in Puéchabon on 27 November 1896. World War I Bizot joined the French military on 8 January 1915. Rated a '' soldat de 2e classe'', he was assigned to 11e Regiment d'Artillerie à pied. He was promoted to enlisted Brigadier on 6 April 1915. On 13 March 1916, he was transferred to 82eme Regiment d'Artillerie lourde. On 12 May 1917, he began pilot's training at Dijon. On 9 July 1917, at Istres, he was granted Military Pilot's Brevet No. 7370. He was then sent for advanced training at Avord and Pau. He reached a combat unit, Escadrille 90, on 13 October 1917. On 25 January 1918, he was promoted to Sergeant. He used a Nieuport to score his first two wins on 27 March 1918, sharing the victories with Charles J. V. Macé and Laurent B. Ruamps.
