"Bitter is Better" is a song by British singer Kim Wilde Kim Wilde (born Kim Smith, 18 November 1960) is an English pop singer, DJ and television presenter. She first saw success in 1981 with her debut single "Kids in America", which peaked at No. 2 in the UK. In 1983, she received the Brit Award f ..., first recorded in 1981. In 1982, it was used in support of a Japanese commercial for the B&L Bitter Lemon brand, and was subsequently released in that country as a single. It was also an extra track on the Japanese release of Wilde's second album, '' Select''. The song remained unreleased in any other country until 1984 when it was released as a single in France in support of '' The Very Best of Kim Wilde'' compilation (even though the track itself was not on that album). It later appeared on a French-issued compilation entitled ''Top 16'' and for many years was considered a rarity. Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. Masami Tsuchiya
is a Japanese singer-songwriter and musician, coming to prominence in the late 1970s as the lead vocalist and guitarist in the group Ippu-Do. His subsequent output includes solo work and collaborations. Tsuchiya's career in music started with a brief stint aged 17 in 1969 as a roadie and stand-in guitarist with The Golden Cups. However, it was discovered that he had lied about his age when his family tracked him down so he was forced to leave the band. In 1972 Tsuchiya was recruited by Nobu Saito to work as a session guitarist, going on to record and tour with Lily and the Bye Bye Session band (one of the other members was Ryuichi Sakamoto) and became a regular member of Junko Ohashi and Minoya Central Station, leaving in 1978 with the formation of Ippu-Do. "The Second Time" is the first single from Kim Wilde's fourth studio album ''Teases & Dares'' (1984). It was re-titled "Go for It" for the North American market. The track was also Wilde's first release on the MCA record label. Her last few releases on her original label had failed to make an impact on the world's charts, but this one finally put her back into the limelight in several European countries, and made number 29 in the UK. It also marked her second chart entry in the US, where it peaked at number 65. "The Second Time"/"Go for It" was also the first Wilde song of which there were several remixes released both commercially and promotionally on the twelve-inch format. ''Select'' is the second studio album by English pop singer Kim Wilde, released on 10 May 1982 by Rak Records, RAK Records. The album was not released in North America, however the singles were. Overview The first single from this album, "Cambodia (song), Cambodia", was released in November 1981 and signalled a different sound from the Wilde camp, with an electronic and Synthesizer, synth sound different from the rock sound of her previous studio album. The songs were again written by Marty Wilde, Marty and Ricky Wilde and produced by Ricky Wilde. The lyrics of the songs were similar to the first album: the second single "View from a Bridge" and the album track "Wendy Sadd" seemed to be about suicide, "Chaos at the Airport" described a nightmare about flying and "Ego" was quite the opposite of a love song.
