Bitila Tawake
Bitila Tawake (born 2 April 1999) is a Fijian rugby union player. She competed for Fiji at the delayed 2021 Rugby World Cup. She also plays for the Fijiana Drua in the Super W competition. Early life Tawake hails from Mualevu, Vanua Balavu in Lau and has maternal links to Nukuloa, Gau in Lomaiviti. She attended Veiuto Primary and Yat Sen Secondary. She has represented Fiji in basketball. Rugby career 2022 Tawake was named in the Fijiana Drua squad for their first Super W competition. She captained the Drua in their debut match against the Rebels. She also led them against the Waratahs in the Grand Final as they clinched their first title. Tawake was selected for the Fijiana squad for two test matches against Australia and Japan in May. She only featured in the Japan test. Fijiana Drua are a Fijian rugby union team based in Australia. Rugby Australia announced in February 2022 that they had joined the Super W competition. History The Fijiana Drua would is the first Fijian team to join the Super W competition with support from the Australian Government’s PacificAus Sports program. The Fiji Rugby Union announced that Rooster Chicken were the official sponsors of the Fijiana Drua for the current Super W season. Fijiana Drua won all matches of the 2022 Super W and claimed the title in their historic first season. They defeated the NSW Waratahs 32–26 in the final. 2022 Oceania Rugby Women's Championship
The 2022 Oceania Rugby Women's Championship is the fourth edition of the Oceania Rugby Women's Championship. The competition will be held in Papakura and Pukekohe in New Zealand from 9 to 18 July. The tournament returns for the first time since 2019. It will be the first time that Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Tonga will play since 2020 and will provide Fiji with valuable preparation ahead of the 2021 Rugby World Cup. The tournament will be played over three rounds at Massey Park and the Navigation Homes Stadium. Fiji won their third championship title after beating Samoa 31–24 in a hard-fought match. 2024 Super Rugby Aupiki Season
The 2024 Super Rugby Aupiki season will be the third season of Super Rugby Aupiki. The competition is expected to run from 2 March 2024 to 13 April 2024. Chiefs Manawa and Hurricanes Poua will kick off the season at the FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton. Competition format The competition will begin with a four-week pre-season that will feature two matches. The season is then expected to officially start on 2 March with six weeks of round robin matches before the final is contested between the top two teams.
