Bitnami
Bitnami is a library of installers or software packages for web applications and software stacks as well as virtual appliances. Bitnami is sponsored by Bitrock, a company founded in 2003 in Seville, Spain by Daniel Lopez Ridruejo and Erica Brescia. Bitnami stacks are used for installing software on Linux, Windows, Mac OS X and Solaris. VMware acquired Bitrock, along with its two largest properties, Bitnami and InstallBuilder, on May 15, 2019. Technology overview Bitnami stacks are available for web applications such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla!, Redmine, AbanteCart, PrestaShop, Magento, MediaWiki and many others. AbanteCart is a New Jersey-based e-commerce technology and business solution provider, created by Pavel Rojkov in 2010 and released to the public in November 2011. It is a free open source electronic commerce application and community based project. AbanteCart is licensed under the Open Software License (OSL) and its foundation is based on PHP and MySQL database. Development of the 1.2 and 2.X versions branch of AbanteCart is coordinated publicly on GitHub. Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) is a part of Amazon.com's cloud-computing platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS), that allows users to rent virtual computers on which to run their own computer applications. Virtual Appliance
A virtual appliance is a pre-configured virtual machine image, ready to run on a hypervisor; virtual appliances are a subset of the broader class of software appliances. Installation of a software appliance on a virtual machine and packaging that into an image creates a virtual appliance. Like software appliances, virtual appliances are intended to eliminate the installation, configuration and maintenance costs associated with running complex stacks of software. A virtual appliance is not a complete virtual machine platform, but rather a software image containing a software stack designed to run on a virtual machine platform which may be a Type 1 or Type 2 hypervisor.
