Julie Conalty
Julie Anne Conalty (born 1963) is a British Anglican bishop. Since 19 July 2021, she has been the Bishop of Birkenhead, one of two suffragan bishops of the Church of England Diocese of Chester. She previously served as Archdeacon of Tonbridge in the Diocese of Rochester since 2017. Conalty trained for the ministry at the South East Institute for Theological Education; she was ordained deacon in 1999, and priest in 2000. She was at East Wickham from 1999 to 2004; and Charlton to 2010. After a curacy at Plumstead Common she was Vicar of Erith from 2012 until her appointment as Archdeacon. Gordon Keith Sinclair (born 3 December 1952) is a British Anglican retired bishop. From 2007 until 2021, he served as the Bishop of Birkenhead, one of two suffragan bishops in the Church of England Diocese of Chester. Early life and education Sinclair was born on 3 December 1952 to Donald and Joyce Sinclair. He was educated at Trinity School, an all-boys private school in Croydon, London. He studied at Christ Church, Oxford, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree; as per tradition, his BA was later promoted to an Oxford Master of Arts (MA Oxon) degree. He then worked as a solicitor. Sinclair entered Cranmer Hall, Durham, an Evangelical Anglican theological college, to train for the ministry. David Andrew Urquhart (born 14 April 1952) is a retired Scottish bishop. He served as the ninth Bishop of Birmingham in the Church of England. Early life Urquhart was educated at Croftinloan School, an independent school near Pitlochry, and at Rugby School, then an all-boys public school. His first career was in commercial management with British Petroleum before studying at Ealing Technical College Business School where he received a Bachelor of Arts business studies in 1977. From 1982 to 1984, he trained for the ordained ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, an evangelical Anglican theological college. Michael Laurence Langrish (born 1 July 1946) is a retired English Anglican bishop. He was Bishop of Exeter from 2000 to 2013. Early life and education Langrish was born in Southampton, Hampshire, the son of Douglas Frank Langrish and Brenda Florence Passingham. A suffragan bishop is a type of bishop in some Christian denominations. In the Anglican Communion, a suffragan bishop is a bishop who is subordinate to a metropolitan bishop or diocesan bishop (bishop ordinary) and so is not normally jurisdictional in their role. Eric Mercer
Eric Arthur John Mercer (6 December 1917 – 8 November 2003) was an Anglican bishop in the Church of England. He was the first Bishop of Birkenhead from 1965 to 1973 and, from then until his retirement, the Bishop of Exeter. Mercer was educated at Dover Grammar School for Boys and Kelham Theological College. After wartime service with the Sherwood Foresters he began his ordained ministry as a curate at Coppenhall.
