Birgit Friedmann
Birgit Friedmann (born 8 April 1960) is a German former middle- and long-distance runner who competed in the 1500 metres and 3000 metres for West Germany. Born in Königstein im Taunus, she made her first major appearance for West Germany at the 1977 European Athletics Junior Championships, where she finished seventh in the 1500 m. The following year she won the national title in the 3000 m at the West German Athletics Championships and was also runner-up to Brigitte Kraus in the 1500 m.West German Championships GBR Athletics. Königstein im Taunus () is a health spa and lies on the thickly wooded slopes of the Taunus in Hesse, Germany. The town is part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area. Random House
Random House is an American book publisher and the largest general-interest paperback publisher in the world. The company has several independently managed subsidiaries around the world. It is part of Penguin Random House, which is owned by German media conglomerate Bertelsmann. Herbert Steffny
Herbert Steffny (born 5 September 1953 in Trier) is a former German long-distance running, long distance track event runner and prominent physical trainer. Professional career After modest successes as a youngster in long distance running, Steffny gave up the competitive running while studying biology, and returned to competition in the older than 30 category. His first victory came at the Echternach Marathon in 1983, and in the following year he would place third in the New York City Marathon. Steffny was the German champion in the 1985 marathon, marathon run, 1987 German champion in 10,000 meter run and 1989 German Champion in Cross country running, cross country. In addition came the title in the 25 kilometer road running and fell running.
