Biplob Bhattacharjee
Biplob Bhattacharjee ( bn, বিপ্লব ভট্টাচার্য; born 7 January 1981), sometimes called Biplob Bhattacharya, is a Bangladeshi retired professional footballer, who represented the Bangladesh national team between 1997 and 2011. He is the current goalkeeping coach of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi. He played as a goalkeeper for Sheikh Russel KC, Abahani Limited Dhaka, Mohammedan SC and many other clubs. Since making his debut at the age of 18, he has won 24 caps for his country. Club career In 1994, Bhattacharjee joined Abahani Limited Dhaka who played in the Dhaka League at the time. He became a full-time footballer when with Abahani who were one of the founding members of the Bangladesh Professional Football League. He retired after playing for Brothers Union in 2018. Comilla (; bn, কুমিল্লা, Kumillā, ), officially spelled Cumilla, is the fifth largest city of Bangladesh and second largest in Chittagong division. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. Edson Silva, also known by the nickname Dido (born 27 June 1962), is a former Brazilian association football player who played for Campeonato Brasileiro Série A clubs Flamengo and Santos. 2010 AFC Challenge Cup
The 2010 AFC Challenge Cup was the third edition of the tournament which was held from 16–27 February 2010 in Sri Lanka. India, the defending champions, fielded their under-23 team for this tournament in preparation for the 2010 Asian Games later that year. The champions, North Korea, qualified for the 2011 Asian Cup. Qualification The finals saw three automatic qualifiers joined by five teams from the qualification phase. 2010 South Asian Games
The 2010 South Asian Games, officially the XI South Asian Games, was a major multi-sport event that took place from 29 January to 8 February 2010 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This was the third time that the Bangladeshi capital hosted the South Asian Games, thus becoming the first city to hold the games three times. Roughly 2000 athletes from eight countries competed at the games in 23 different sports. The sporting giant of the region, India continued its dominance in the game's medal tally with a staggering 175 medals including 90 gold medals. Pakistan narrowly beat the host country in gold medals count with 19, while the host Bangladesh captured 18 golds including the region's most popular and prestigious football and cricket titles. 2009 South Asian Football Federation Cup
The 2009 South Asian Football Federation Championship was hosted by Bangladesh from 4 to 13 December 2009. Bangladesh was awarded to host the tournament after the withdrawal of original hosts India. After India's reluctance to host the tournament, in May 2009, at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president Kazi Salahuddin on his return from the AFC Congress informed that although India were still retaining their status as hosts of the championship, Bangladesh and Nepal had turned in fresh bids in anticipation of staging this prestigious eight-nation meet. The Bhutan national football team represents Bhutan in international men's association football, football. Aminul Haque (Bengali: আমিনুল হক; born 5 October 1980), is a former Bangladeshi professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is regarded as one of the greatest Bangladeshi footballers of all time, and has been described as the greatest goalkeeper to have represented Bangladesh. He is considered one of the most influential footballers of his generation in South Asia alongside Ali Ashfaq and Bhaichung Bhutia. Haque's positional sense and ability to read the game made him one of the greatest goalkeepers in South Asian football history.
