Bingo Durango
{{unreferenced, date=February 2011 Bingo Durango was an eighties alternative pop/rock group that drew heavily on the sound of sixties psychedelia. The band's releases were characterized by layered arrangements, dreamy melodies, and the fluid guitar of Scott Mather. Origins Bingo Durango crystallized around a guitar driven, New York quintet in the mid-eighties. The band came to the attention of ex-Roxy Music bassist and Smiths’ producer John Porter. An LP's worth of tracks mixed at London's Matrix Studios with the assistance of Billy Bragg producer Kenney Jones, were later deemed unsuitable for release. Instead, the band retired to a Boston studio with engineer Gene Bodio to record the four-song EP ''Bingo Durango''. Courted by a number of American labels, Bingo Durango suffered the death of drummer Allan Shutter in a tragic accident. Psychedelia
Psychedelia refers to the psychedelic subculture of the 1960s and the psychedelic experience. This includes psychedelic art, psychedelic music and style of dress during that era. This was primarily generated by people who used psychedelic drugs such as LSD, mescaline (found in peyote) and psilocybin (found in magic mushrooms) and also non-users who were participants and aficionados of this subculture. Psychedelic art and music typically recreate or reflect the experience of altered consciousness. David Yazbek
David Norman Yazbek (born 1961) is an American writer, musician, composer, and lyricist. He wrote the music and lyrics for the Broadway musicals ''The Full Monty'' (2000), '' Dirty Rotten Scoundrels'' (2005), ''Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown'' (2010), ''The Band's Visit'' (2017), and ''Tootsie'' (2019). Early life Yazbek was born in New York City. His father is of Lebanese descent, and his mother was of half Italian and half Jewish ancestry. Dave Gregory (musician)
David Charles Gregory (born 21 September 1952) is an English guitarist from Swindon, best known for his work with the rock band XTC. He was a member of the group between the single " Life Begins at the Hop" (1979) and early sessions for the album '' Apple Venus Volume 1'' (1999), contributing guitar, keyboards, and occasional string arrangements. Career In '76/'77, before XTC Gregory was lead guitarist for Dave Heap's Forest of Dean based band, Gogmagog along with Jim Leach on keyboard. He joined XTC as guitarist immediately prior to the recording of the ''Drums and Wires'' LP in 1979, when he replaced Barry Andrews, eventually leaving the band in 1999.
