Daisy Bindi (1904—1962), also known as Mumaring, was an Aboriginal Australian Indigenous rights activist and a leader in the landmark 1946 Pilbara strike in Western Australia. Early life Bindi was born about 1904 on a cattle-station near present-day Jigalong, on the edge of the Gibson Desert in Western Australia, to parents Jimmy and Milly. Her Aboriginal name was Mumaring. She acquired the name Bindi on her marriage to her husband, though no other records of their union have been found. As a child she worked on Ethel Creek station, where she learned housework and to manage horses, and became an accomplished horsewoman. Giacomo Bindi (born 2 January 1987) is an Italian former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Early career Born in Siena, Tuscany, Bindi started his career at Arezzo the nearby province. In summer 2003, he joined Internazionale's Allievi Nazionali Team in a temporary deal, which he also played once for Primavera Team, behind Simone Villanova and Alex Cordaz (who already promoted to the 1st team) as the 3rd goalkeeper along with Nathan Coe (who also plays at Berretti Team). Maria Rosaria "Rosy" Bindi (; born 12 February 1951) is an Italian politician and the former President of the Antimafia Commission. Career Born in Sinalunga (Tuscany), she graduated in political science. She was standing near the lawyer Vittorio Bachelet when he was assassinated by the Red Brigades in 1980. She held the position of vice-president of Azione Cattolica, the most popular Italian Catholic lay association, from 1984 to 1989, the year she joined the Christian Democracy (DC) party. Umberto Bindi (12 May 1932 – 23 May 2002) was an Italian singer-songwriter. He is especially known for the popular song he co-wrote with Gino Paoli, ''Il Mio Mondo'' ("You're My World"), which he recorded in Italian in 1963. It was later performed by singers in English and other languages. Life and career Bindi was born in Bogliasco (Province of Genoa), Italy, and was classically trained.
