Binda
Binda is a village in the Southern Tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia in Upper Lachlan Shire. It is about 17 km north-north-west of Crookwell in the county of Georgiana. The site of Binda was explored in 1820 by James Meehan and John Oxley and the first pastoral runs were taken by Francis Oakes, Chief Constable of Parramatta, Rowland Hassall and Thomas Bray in 1825 and 1826. The town was a listed locality in the census of 1828. Lost River, New South Wales
Lost River is a locality, in the Upper Lachlan Shire, within the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia. It lies on either side of the main road between Crookwell, New South Wales, Crookwell and Boorowa, Boorawa, which are the nearest towns to it. The area now known as Lost River lies within the traditional lands of the Gandangara, Gundungurra people. These people spoke a similar if not identical language to the neighbouring Ngunnawal people to their south. After settler colonisation, the area became part of the King County, New South Wales, County of King, one of the Nineteen Counties, in which land could be taken up by the colonial settlers. There is a watercourse by the name of Lost River—a tributary of Wheeo Creek, in the Lachlan River catchment—that bisects the locality, and forms a part of the boundary between the parishes. John Oxley
John Joseph William Molesworth Oxley (1784 – 25 May 1828) was an explorer and surveyor of Australia in the early period of British colonisation. He served as Surveyor General of New South Wales and is perhaps best known for his two expeditions into the interior of New South Wales and his exploration of the Tweed River and the Brisbane River in what is now the state of Queensland. Hassall Grove, New South Wales
Hassall Grove is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Hassall Grove is located 46 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Blacktown and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region.
